I'm owner of a Sapphire 5970. I discovered a product from Artic Cooling, the Accelero Extreme 5970

I was wondering if it would be a good investment. I'd like to extend my Graphic Cards life as long as possible and I think that keeping it cooler would be a nice thing.

I never bought Artic Cooling stuff.
So all your experience with VGA Cooler and Artic Cooling stuff will be welcome guys!

Pics or it didn't happen. (I want to see this 5970).
But make it legit. Take a piece of paper and write your name (Crashers) and EGO on it.

Back on topic,
Unless your GPU is at extreme temps, you don't really need a VGA cooler.
Though Arctic Cooling is a good brand for that kind of thing.

I would not buy an after-market cooler. You're card will last a LONG time with the stock cooler. I still have VGA and PCI cards kicking around that work perfectly. You don't need a cooler like that unless you plan on doing some overclocking.

There's my $0.02 on the matter.

If you are unhappy with the temperatures of your card, then buy the Accelero. I have never used/seen the 5970, but the ones for other cards are very good.

theres a pci slot fan you can buy XD pretty good reviews :p

but really, i find it that my case is pretty big and with 6 80mm fans blowing the air around plus the gpu's own fan, i have found it very cooled. i had to shut down the computer after gaming and leaving it on for like a week to install two more fans and also a new cpu heatsink/fan. i was surprised to find that it was still cool to the touch. i mean when i did that with my old computer with the 8800, that thing was burning. and like i said, i just finished gaming and it was still cool to touch. i have a 5850, and believe me, i have been putting that bad boy to the test.

i say if you have a good air flow and not overclocking, i dont think you really need a after market cooler. thats just me, i find that overclocking is not really for me.

You'll have your pic BASSdoken ;). More than that you'll have myself pictured with the beast, my eGO t-shirt and a paper writed Crasher on it =). And no i'm not planning to overclock the beast. I have Antec 1200 case with 4 120mm + 1 200mm fans. My heatsink is Corsair H50 in push-pull config. Maybe there is enough air trough case to keep it cool enough.
