Microphone has static sound in the background?

Hello, well i have a Logitech Precision Gaming headset (not so mighty as it sounds >.<) and whenever I use it, theres is always this static sound in the background, like a huge wasp. It goes on and off, sometimes its there sometimes its not. It happens on both video games and vent. Thanks!

No, it hasnt been damaged, and its fairly new, less than a year old... there was this problem with my old mic too.

If you have a desktop and are using the front microphone jacks, try switching it to the back.

Also consider the rounting of the cables, if they run past any surge strips or power cords, such as the PC tower's power or the Monitors power, you may be picking up electrical noise
