Glorious

Updating this due to a new show airing, which regrettably turned out to be completely horrible. But I did change around the other shows and added notes to a few of them, mostly to shows that either dropped drastically in quality or ones that have really improved.

Woop Woop Tier

1. Chuunibyou demo Koi

Best thing since sliced bread, why are you reading this horrible post and not watching right now tier.

2. Shinsekai yori (Was worried about this show cause a lot of people said it would be bad, but just keeps getting better week after week)

3. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (Really unique with it's art style and a big adrenalin rush from how amazingly over the top the show is, but continues to deliver highly entertaining episodes)

4. Psycho Pass

5. Kamisama Hajimemashita

6. Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo

7. Jormungand 2

8. Robotics;Notes

9. Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun

10. Zetsuen no Tempest

11. Gintama’ Enchousen (First two episodes were good, but with the third they are dragging this arc out way to long and it's getting a bit old for a show like Gintama)

Not terrible, not great, could be better, and is at least still worth a look, yet mostly average tier

12. Magi (First episode was good, then it just went really down hill with the second. Hopefully it can pick itself up with the third. But so far this is a pretty bad adaptation which is a shame since I enjoyed what I read of the manga so far.)

13. Btooom! (Not impressed at all by the first episode, but the 2nd and 3rd redeemed this show slightly. Being a fan of the manga the anime isn't exactly living up to how good the original is, but it's getting slightly better)

14. Code;Breaker

15. Ixion Saga DT

16. Sukitte Ii na yo

17. K

18. Little Busters

19. Medaka Box

The crying myself to sleep because people actually put money into making these horrendous shows tier

20. Onii-chan Dakedo

21. Hayate no Gotoku

22. Girls und Panzer

23. Aoi Sekai no Chuushin de (New show, complete trash just like the other ones in this group. I'm all for parodies and *adult* humor every once in awhile, such as Ixion Saga DT, but this show is not even trying and in fact repeats the exact same joke just minutes apart from each other to which I had to basically force myself from simply stopping this show and doing something else.)

24. To Love-Ru Darkness

25. Busou Shinki

Just picking up with the thread and here's my 2 cents: please don't divide anime into tiers, just because you don't like it doesn't make it bad, just leave it at What you are watching this season, to prevent a my tastes>you're tastes discussion
/rant

I just started watching SAO and now I have 1 thing to say: Oh...my...god..... What have I've been missing? easily one of the best anime I've seen

This season I've picked up:

-Chuunibyou: Nothing else to say

-Shin Sekai Yori: no episodes watched

-Hayate no gotoku: I'm not liking it too much, I just want to keep on the anime original arc

-Robotics;Notes: 1 episode and I'm kinda meh about it

-Sakurasou no pet na kanojo: 0 episodes watched

-Oni-Ai: Liking it so far, mostly because of Chihara Minori

-TLR Darkness: Dropped at 20 seconds....reason? SOLAR FLARE, in a show where nudity happens every 2 seconds watching 1/6 of the screen is not pleasant

I have taken your rant into consideration and must decline your request. That list is based off of MY opinion on the shows that I am currently watching and I feel by ranking what you like more it will open much more discussion into this dying thread than just saying i'm watching x which leaves no real way to reply to this other than I am or am not watching x as well. By rank you are given the option to explain why you like one show versus another show and inquire further into peoples tastes. An example of this would be: Ramp why do you like Psycho Pass over Code;Breaker? Well sir or madam Psycho Pass comes off to me as a mix of Ergo Proxy and Ghost in the Shell, both of which I enjoyed. I also feel that the story does a better job of explaining what exactly is happening and I am a fan of the dark gritty animation style that is being portrayed.

Also catch up to SAO's current episode and try and say that again. In MY opinion (along with thousands of other people) SAO started off all nice and grand, then, well I don't even know how to describe it but SAO just became the complete opposite of good. But hey man that's just MY opinion (along with thousands of other people).

I mean come on. They go to a new game after SAO where the entire premise is MAGIC ONLY NO SWORDS but every single character that has shown up so far FIGHTS WITH A SWORD and the only magic that has been performed is a healing spell.

Yeah I agree, the second arc hasn't lived up to the first arc quite so well yet.

In fairness, it's only been two episodes into the new arc with one fight, so the fact that everyone fought with swords doesn't really amount to much. It would have been weird if Kirito warped in and could suddenly out-magic people with more experience so I guess he has to work with the skills he's got.
All that changed in the game were sword skills (not weapons) were exchanged for magic spells.

So, i watched a lot of animes recently and here is some things you should watch in your free time.

1.Itazura na kiss
2.Boku wa tomodachi ga sukunai
3.B Gata H Kei
4.Umineko no Naku Koro ni

I started and finished Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu today during work.
Loved it.
Anyone know if there is going to be a fourth season of FMP?

To get this thread talking again I have a question for all of you. What got you into anime, And what was the first anime you watched?

Mine was Angel Beats! to answer both questions.

I don't remember specifically what series I first watched. All I remember is watching Toonami in the 90s and loving it. DBZ, Tenshi, Outlaw Star, Ronin Warriors...amazing.
What got me into anime was Fullmetal Alchemist. Love that series.

The first anime I watched was Fullmetal Alchemist.
Though technically, I had seen some episodes of Dragon Ball Z and read the first volume of the One Piece manga.

From FMA, I went on to read the FMA manga up to the point it had reached, then watch about 40 episodes of D.Gray-man. Over the next years I would occasionally watch some episodes of some anime such as Evangelion, Hellsing, .hack//Sign, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and Fate/Stay Night. I would not stick with them.

It was not for some time that I actually started watching whole series of anime again (I had, however, been reading D.Gray-man and Fullmetal Alchemist).

Time here gets very fuzzy.

I probably started when I heard Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood was going to come out. Somewhere between then and when it reached ~episode 35 online in official subs, I began following its progress and stopped buying the manga, I watched Soul Eater, I watched about 80 episodes of Bleach, and I watched the entirety of D.Gray-man.

Time here stops being fuzzy.

One day I watched Gurren Lagann with my brother. I suppose you could say that is what really got me started on anime, in the sense that after that I really began watching series from start to finish rather than the sense that "I like anime". Almost a year after that (early this year) I watched Trigun, then Cowboy Bebop, then Code Geass, then Hetalia, then Wolf's Rain.

Dragon ball Z got me into anime. Since I was about 6 years old I used to watch it every morning for years before school. About 2 years ago I felt like watching it again from start to finish and did so :].

I had the exact same situation with One Piece and decided to watch that after DBZ. I only just got up to date in One Piece though lol...

It was either DBZ which used to air on TV when I was young and Escaflowne which also aired on TV. Back than I did not know what anime was and simply referred to them as cartoons, they had me hooked and led me to discover the wonderful world of anime.
