In some roads, some posters are trying to persuade drivers who abuse the speed of the vehicle: "your speed is measured by radar." This announcement may change in the near future to "speed will be measured from space," if it is an experiment magnifies that develops in the UK.

A new system, called "SpeedSpike" is associated with the satellites to measure the average speed of vehicles in the middle distances, especially in urban areas. The classic "guns" to detect cars that go very fast radars were replaced by space in Southwark, London and Cornwall.

The invention, developed by PIPS Technology, combines information from fixed cameras with data from global positioning satellites, calculating the average speed between two points within its range.

The advantages of this model is that it is inexpensive, easy to install, works in all weather and captures images 24 hours a day. The problem is that these technologies cause (logic) suspicion among privacy advocates, who see SpeeSpike as a giant step toward a state or a reality show panoptic global and permanent.
