Rage Quitting

I just want to post something regarding rage quitting. Today I was in a game in our Rush #1 server and our team was getting rolled pretty bad. So the second we start winning everyone on the other side rage quits. I'm not going to point fingers but this includes (e)'s (eG)'s and (eGO)'s.

I joined eGO because I liked the community and the goals/morals that everyone follows. So this happening and it not being the first time ticks me off. Cordially Nerd Rage!!!

Some people can't take losses and they rage quit, some may have to leave or whatnot.

When i play and plays bad, i might rage quit. But not only becose i play bad I often need to go somewhere and when i play bad its a great opportunity to leave and do whatever i need to do. becose i often have a hard time quit playing while im doing good

I wasn't in this particular game you're mentioning, but i have on multiple occasions left a game for the retarded amount of idiocy going on so i could go to a different (ego) server to have a better gaming session. Things such as too many snipers not helping, medics that don't rez, assaults that just run in a die, engi's that don't repair, just a really terrible team, etc...

On the other hand, i've also left a game due to flat out obliterating the other team for whatever reason, it's no fun when there's no challenge

I usually ony Rage Quit after many rounds of being on T in Jail Server and being killed in Trivia or couch game at the beginning of every round. Other than that, i usually play until i need to leave to do something or my trigger finger needs a brake. (By trigger finger im refering to mouse, though id love to get a Falcon)

Most people don't like to play a game only to lose over and over. In my experience, it's rare that good players will switch and balance teams. Getting rolled is not fun, so might as well find something better to do (like find another server or just stop playing).

You do relize that sometimes people quit because of issues outside the gaming world. I have been accused of rage quiting, but I have a child and if she wakes up from her nap and is screaming. I don't have the time to tell everyone to have a good game and I am leaving the game.

Sometimes people are just tired of playing. I play for awhile and if I get bored or if I have something else to that needs to get done, I quit. Doesn't matter if I am winning or losing.

You mention that it was the other team that started quiting. Did you notice anyone on your team quiting when you were losing.

Personally I am getting tired of these posts. There is Rage Quiting in every game. We know this, everyone knows this. Its something we are all going to have to deal with. Get used to it, its going to continue in every game from now till the end of time.

Personally I'd rather people rage quit then stay and complain or degrade other people. Just leave clear your head and come back some other time.

It is also a good thing to look at this issue at the other side of the specter. When your team is loosing, not just barely loosing but when you just get smash, usually the winning team is stacked (and by this I mean skill-wise). It is a pain in the neck do deal with this situation. If you make your statement, well it's called winning. If you use the diplomatic solution to just go find a server where you will have more fun, it's called raging. The fact is nobody in is right mind play a game to suffer from it.

I agree with Duality. Its much better for everyone involved if you just leave when you feel a "OMG WTF YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" coming on

Rage quitting is a fact of life when playing any game. Yes I admit I R-quit many times, but hey what can u do to stop it--nothing!!!

Posts like this are not productive in any way. We should be supporting each other and having fun. I never used to remember posts like this, but they are becoming a common occurrence.

Lots of people leave between map changes. Thats the main issue with running rotational servers, people dont stick around as long as 24/7 maps.

Which is true but in such a new game like BC2 not everyone knows which maps/modes they like best just yet. Just like with all games it eventually start turning towards 24/7 servers but right now rotations are king.

I just hate people who leave when the other team is starting to win. Let me explain the situation that peeved me off so much, leading to this thread which even I know (surprise)is unproductive.
Our team was losing badly, we were getting steamrolled that round and the round before; couldn't even plant a Bomb at the first objective point. So midway (once we were down to about 20-30 respawns) we finally get plant and detonate a bomb by shear luck. Then the quitting starts, sure maybe I'm just venting un-needingly :cursing: or maybe 10 people had other things to do all at the same time. From there I change teams and slowly a full 32 server dwindles to 22, 8-4, then 2.
It just ticks me off when people quit just because the other team starts to show a tiny bit of capability. Was it wrong of me to expect some small form of courtesy out of some people?

Interesting... wonder if anyone will take this post seriously, and reevaluate the way we handle ourselves on our servers. I think we really need an admin class or a divisional meeting to help each other sort this growing trend out.

BC2 just can be more frustrating then most games as it is pretty team oriented. You can't have 1 good player and still win all the time. You have to work as a team. Sadly the majority of players aren't that good. Nor do they know how to work as a team, too many still play like they are alone.
