The new steam is just annoying... It keeps crashing my CS:S With client timed out messages and no steam valid login. So idk what to do since you can no longer revert tot he old one... Anyone please help...? Already deleted clientregistry.blob though =/
 
Yeah. This was the same thing that was happening to me for the beta. And once I reverted to the original it fixed. But now I can't...
 
Go to steam support amd rage?



They actually respond fairly quick :O
 
Tried that. Idk what is wrong with it... I also have no idea what valve was thinking when not allowing you to revert to the old steam... Just a stupid move imo
 
Since it's a different UI, have you tried updating your video card?
I had Windows 7 driver installed and couldn't see the new STEAM.
But when I got the driver from ATI's website, I could.
 
People said what they did was remove their game folders, uninstall STEAM completely, clear out the steam registries, download a fresh new copy from the site, install it, but don't run it.

Replace your current game folder with the one we backed up, start up STEAM, run through the install, it'll update momentarily and be good to go.

But since you tried that, I can't say I can help you on this one.
 
The reason you can't revert to the old steam is the fact valve is trying to update everything about the client to give it more features coming up to the Steam for Mac release, the more features they are hoping to increase play amount.

I have seen a lot of people with troubles on the new Steam, and i have also seen it help out many people with their old problems, it seems to me you have tried absolutely everything. Maybe steam will release a minimal version of the client hopefully, i know i lag 10x more since the new Steam has been released.
 
You could alternatively try renaming the file "clientregistry.blob" in your steam folder. (IE programfiles/steam) This will wipe most of your client authentication information, and refresh it from the servers. If you have your password set to remember, it will erase this as well, so be sure you know your password before you try this.

You can also delete it, but if you have an issue, it may help more to roll back.
 
try fooling around with running both steam and your game in admin mode.

if that does not work try fiddling around with the compatibility options.

Happend to me a few moments ago with "They Call Me C" and I will send something to the Support team. I dont like the new Steam the skin, how it works, etc.

It sucks
 
ya, steam has been crashing on me like this at random times all morning now, and often enough to make me "RAGE QUIT!!! >:@"

also, i just got something from steam saying they couldnt "sync your files for Steam Client with the Steam Cloud"

not sure how that would make steam fail like this tho >.<

That's great for both of you, but telling the world that you don't have problems doesn't help solve Red Serpent's problem.

This sound like it's a network issue to me. Have you checked to make sure all the correct ports are open on your router and that your firewall is not blocking the necessary files?
