How long you hold the grenade, depends on where you are throwing it into. I don't really count. I just "know" when to prime the grenade, depending on where I am throwing it.

you seem to get a feel of when it will explode. I love those us frags that you dont prime quite as much and then throw on a line drive. Then an mg just sits and watches it roll about 35 meters right up infront of his gun...thats the best. (also plz dude...if you could not use the bad language that would be great. I dont wanna seem like a jerk but, if you could not use the s word that would be good. thanks for your understanding...)

LOL my nades count up to 7! . (Assuming you are using the mega '7 second grenades' I count to 5/6, and 4 if i'm chucking to beach. I'm a pro grenade primer, although my counting may be a little off!
