Haveing a email address would be very could but not everone is going to be able to pay for it, so it should be free like other email addresses are.

BTW getting perks because you paid for an email account is an extremely terrible Idea. Some people are going to have benefits that others do not because they paid for it? That is NOT what eGO is about. How long before people are able to purchase eGO roles, or advisor roles. You want to purchase an email account, fine. But DO NOT give those who purchase one perks that those who do not have have an email account can not attain. Trust me, it starts here, and ends up with people purchasing promotions. It may take years before it gets to that point and I know you will say it will never happen, But please please please taking my warning and do not allow people to purchase perks.

In gmail you have the option to setup multiple accounts. You would enter your ego email address and they would send a verification emaio to that account.

Once you click on the verification link you have a drop down option that lets you change your sender info. (i.e. [email protected], [email protected], [email protected])

I have about 5 accounts that I can send from within gmail so the mail will appear to be sent from the @domain account.

Thanks a lot for the clarification Deacon, that's handy for a lot of things.

I'd pay a solid $12 for a year's worth of an eGO email address. It's another way to advertise the clan's name, and hell - I could even add it to my Steam account as the active email to make it look super fancy and official.

To reiterate though, I do think you'd have more success doing it as a lump sum payment, rather than have it be subscription based. I work with customers all day long for subscription related payments, and they're MUCH more likely to put out that amount of money if they buy the whole year's worth all at once than if they go monthly.

I just fail to see how it would be useful to me. I hope this is not leading to "eGO Gold Member Accounts" or something...

The idea is cool and I love the eGO's to death but I don't think I would pay to have an email address when I could just have one for free. I will however continue to support the clan by purchasing merch from the cafepress. I love the hat I have and I rock it all the time. I'm planning on getting some more cs:s stuff sometime soon.

I think that having an email address here is an incredible idea. However, we should not be forced to pay for it. Almost every email service on the web is free, no reason this one couldnt be.

It would cost them time and money and also raise funds for ego

I see the impetus for offering this type of idea, but I don't really see much of a need for it. Sure, having a neat clan email for steam would look neat, but it would really be purely aesthetic. The only other reason I can see for it would be if the private message forum on the site got to be so huge that you needed an email instead. I only see it being viable for advisors and leaders, who probably get a huge volume of email from various people regarding community stuff.

tl;dr: frankly, I think that while it's a neat perk that comes with donating to the community, I think that on it's own, to someone who wasn't going to donate to the community anyhow, it isn't all that attractive.

I would personally love an @edgegamers.org website, but i do not think i would be able to afford it. =/. However, it would be really cool to have someone ask, "whats your email" and i go "[email protected]" and maybe they'd be like "omg edgegamers?! i love your guys servers!" xD.

Um, why? That's almost asking for trouble, I can see phishing attempts by "official" reps of eGO because they have an eGO e-mail.

My Comcast and Gmail account are all I need.

I wouldn't wanna pay for it, but I do think that having PM inbox/email account would be awesome.

What I mean is if someone wanted to send me a PM from email they could email [email protected], and then my PM inbox would forward that to my gmail on file and I could reply to the original message to <user>@edgegamers.org and they system would be able to translate my address into my user name, and then the message to the recipient's PM inbox and therefore their address on file. I hope that is relatively clear. PM me if you need more clarification.

No attachments would be supported but it might be able to let people respond a little faster... I would definitely use it more
