Ok so here are 3 of the ASUS laptops I was looking at

n71jv

N61JV

U30JC

I mostly play WoW, UT3, and some source games. I am not using this to replace my Desktop that I normally game on. This is just for being able to play when I am not at home and use for school. I was leaning to these because of the battery life, 3-4 hour batter life web surfing is what is holding me back. Price point is under $900.

I like the U30JC because of the longer battery life and lighter weight. Anyone game on a 13'' screen?

The other two, I wanted to lean more to the N61JV because it is lighter and the processor is better.

Any thoughts or other suggestions?

Asus is a great brand, I personally have the G72 and nothing has stopped it.

The battery life isn't a problem for me because I rarely bring it anyway and leave it plugged in

The screen is 17'' and performs great

If money isn't a problem, I would suggest it, but it is pricey

N61 is the best build out of those three mainly because of the quad core (Core i5), this will help game perform a lot better.

My friend has an ASUS with C2D 2.26ghz and a 9650GT, and that thing still plays everything he has just fine (Source games, WoW (well he did play it), and some others as well).

ASUS makes their laptops rock solid, Ive really never heard anything bad about them.

The core i5 430m is a dual core with hyperthreading or 4 logical processors. Both the G series i listed and the N61 use the same cpu , however the G60 i listed has GTS 360m graphics while the N61 uses the GT325. N series are "entertainment" notebooks , while the G-series are ROG aka Republic of Gamers and meant for gaming.

Thanks for the Info guys. This laptop is mostly going to be used for school purposes, I have a gaming desktop for games. The reason I posted the N series is because of the battery life and they would run the games I play.
