anyone else have problems with steam support?...been three days since i told em about the initial issue of gettin disconnected from servers...they addressed that...what they have yet to do anything about is resetting my pw...i asked in my first email...then submitted a second after they told me how to fix the problems with getting disconnected only to have them close the issue...reopened the complaint and asked yet again for someone to reset my pw and have yet to hear anything from them...i hate to complain...but this is really annoying me..thanks for listening to my little rant....again...

wouldnt normally be postin this thread...but its just wrong that i have to resort to battlefield heroes cause they arent listening to what im saying...lol

dude not gonna lie, that sucks... i had issues with them aswell when my account got hijacked it took them forever to respond, partly because i dont think they have 'weekend support'. really annoys me also how you have to do everything online.. i mean not even an instant messenger like i've seen some companies 'support' do.... and no hot-line to call that will make it 52563462^8 easier..


but yeah we can rant together cause i just worked a 3-2am........ i'll go into detail and hijack your thread... but only with your permission.. haha

Steam Support will never offer a hot-line phone number. Imagine how many calls they would get per day (Oh, my account got hijacked because I clicked a suspicious link). I doubt they would be able to handle the high call volumes. Another thing, I think they have weekend support but with the constant emails they get, it takes 2-3 days for them to respond. When my account got stolen, they responded within 24-36 hours. It all depends on what their ticket queue is at that specific date / time.

Nonetheless, I understand your frustration. What caused the issue? Is it not sending the password to your email? Have you checked your junk mail / spam folders?
 
blindy...they have seemingly just ignored the request...ive checked my junk folder several times...

cuban...feel free to hijack this thread...we can start an unofficial official rant thread...lol
 
I sent them a request once to change my security question and they did within 24 hours , Its actually weird for me cause they worked really fast.
 
Steam is usually quick when handling password issues, or at least for me.

it takes up to a week to get a real response. The day after they will send a computer generated message saying they will get to you in 3-4 days... At about 3 to 4 days they will send you another message a little more human but it won't really help at all. At about day 7 you get a real person that may or may not help you. Best of luck with them helping you.

It took them 9 days for them to fix my problem. Which did not even fix it. I ended up googling to find a fix for it.
 
they got back to me about the initial issue in about 20 hours...but its been almost 4 days and absolutely no response about resetting my pw
 
Whether they get back to you fast or not is a big issue, but one of the greatest problems I have encountered with Steam is their lack of qualified responders and lack of resources. If you have a serious software problem it can take weeks before someone with the proper knowledge provides a workable answer.

However, considering the size and inter workings of their system, none of us could probably do any better. They are the biggest bear in the woods and they are the heart of our gaming fun and they deserve our respect.
 
I've also had struggles with Steam's support service. They seem to have a difficult time producing solutions for issues, much less doing it in a timely fashion.
 
I think they're just swamped right now with people asking for help. I really do need to question their beta test process of the new Steam UI because it seemed like it only took a week, and during that week there were still countless bugs and problems and yet they still release it - with the same bugs intact. It took a few days of scanning through the hundreds of forum posts to find a fix for my issue (and it wasn't a steam tech who suggested the fix, but yet another angry customer who had to find the work around himself).

So I don't know, I think everyone will just need to be patient a little while longer and hope that they get everything fixed up.

If you have the time you can end up searching around and someone is bound to have a fix for it.

This so far is how I have fixed every problem with steam.
