I'm just wondering if anyone still uses regular Compact-Disks (CD) anymore. I have a stack of them sitting in my glove department in my car as well as a CD player (ancient I know). Has everyone switched over to using Flash drives for everything?

I use them sometimes I think I've bought one music cd in the past two years, everything I ether buy or download offline.

i still listen to cds

its better to have one cd break then have itunes mess up and have to redownload every song that you had

I dont have an ipod nor plan too ;)

I burn MP3s on CDs to listen in the car

for portable, my blackberry with micro SD card can fit plenty of music

I buy music CD's and give friends my photos on CDs, well I've moved on to DVDs for photos recently actually now that I say that... "looks quizzical"

I use CD's in the car because I have no way to hook my MP3 up to there. Steam for Games, MP3 Player for music usually, Flash Drive or File Sharing Site to share videos and pictures and stuff with friends. And I use BeeMP3.com to download all my music :)

I still use them. I've got a massive CD collection and not enough hard disk space to back it all up, so I've got plenty of reasons to use CDs plus when we are in the car listening to CDs is what we do. I have one of those Mp3 to tape deck things, but our car doesn't have a tape deck. Our car also doesn't have a Mp3 player built in soo... yeah. I only really use my MP3 player when I'm walking or riding a bike somewhere. I also use CDs to make backups, trade data, etc.

Well im a cd dj, so its definitely critical that i use cds, but i also use my microsoft zune in place of another cd turntable. I feel bad since i dont have as many cds as most djs do, but its w/e. I got plenty of music on my computer that I can burn onto cds, so its all good. I do have 1 flash drive that my mom gave me (God bless the US Military for free flash drives). I mainly use the flash drive she gave me for file transfer purposes. Also in my car i only have a cd player, even tho 1 of the button says "cd/tape change". Go figure on that part. When the radio doesnt suffice (only listen to 1 station because cant stand the rest), I shove a cd in & im on my way.

I got the same thing with the radio, I live in the middle of nowhere and every station (no joke) plays country. Sense I despise country there is only 2 stations I listen to, and those only get about 60-90% signal so its always got some static in it. When I eventually get tired of it I pop in a CD.

Nah.. 1tb external for all music needs.

In the car I just connect my itouch with one of those cords you can buy for like 40$.

I use Cd's i use them mainly in the car or ill play them on the home computer becasue it doesnt have what my laptop does and im far to lazy to transfer music.

i still buy cd's since there aren't very many online music stores that sell music in a decent sound quality. but in the end i will rip everything to FLAC files for my computers and for streaming to my stereo and what not.

it's just a shame that if you get music online you got to put up with these crappy sounding lossy codecs that they are downloaded in.

even mp3 at 320kb/s sound pretty bad in the high end compared to a FLAC or wav.

but i could say the same thing about a 16bit 44.1khz wav file to a 24bit 96khz wav if it's played and some good reference monitors that aren't rubbish.
