Need Computer Help

This is probably going to sound hillarious to some of you, but just for the record, I know absolutely nothing about the internal stuff involving computers. I will say that I changed my internet settings after the new steam update to what it needs to be set at.

This is what my computer is doing, keep in mind my computer is only about 5 months old, but here lately I will be playing the game and I will start to lag out it will last about 2-3 rounds and then go back to normal, about 5 minutes later it will do it again, and will continue to do this until i get so frustrated that I just stop playing.

So my question is what is wrong with the computer, is it the graphics card, I currently have a GEforce 9100 Graphic card, that came with the computer, and all the drivers are up to date. My computer is running properly with no viruses or anything of the sort.

So my only thought here is that it is the graphics card, and if it is in fact the graphics card, is this something that would be covered under the warranty that I got with the computer?

Seriously I need some help here suggestions would be spanktastic.

It could be your fan maybe you need to clean out your computer because your computer could be frying from the inside because of the heat. I do believe the graphics card is under warranty, as the whole computer would be under warranty. Hope this was helpful and spanktastic! lol xD

hi, here is what i have in mind

1. is the graphics card built into the motherbored ?

2. has the graphics card got good cooling ?

3. check that your computers windows update is set to notify you only about the updates and not automatically download

4. try running steam in online mode but sign out of friends list on steam

5. check that no other network programmes are using up bandwidth

6. defrag all hard-drives

7. in steam verify your game catch which can be don by right clicking on css and going to properties

8. defrag your game files also done in propeties of css

9. make sure you rate's are set to :

Rate 30000
cl_cmdrate 66
cl_updaterate 66

10. try using this command: cl_lagcomp_errorcheck 1 (if it dont work put cl_lagcomp_errorcheck 0 as its the default setting)

11. try configuring your connection devices to its maximum speed done by going to connection then right click on the connection then propeties then configure then look at some options on there

there might be some tweaks you can make there like aggressive roming (if you have wireless)
or somtimes there may be an option to turn on turbo mode lol (if you have a wireless adapter that supports it)

13. if you have Amd computer try downloading fusion desktop utility which can be found here

14. if these here do not work the only thing i would do now is try re-install css

lol steam87 i swear you just spoke japanese to me cause i didnt understand half of what you just put, lol but i can tell you that i have defragmented my hard drive, I cleaned all the dust out of the computer, other then that i have no idea on any of the other stuff, if my graphic card is covered under warranty then i might have to take it and see what is wrong with it

When my girlfriends internet company decides to "be all they cant be" i have that issue. I will play for a little while then get booted off vent. then shortly after vent will come back and counterstrike will crash. Not sure though, im not the best for tech help. Hope it all works out though meranda, good luck.

The indications of a graphics card failing would be more then below, but these are the main faults,

1) When you turn your computer on, a fan speeds extremely fast with the message "57 HTZ out of signal".

2) Your computer would boot up, but at the Boot image, it'd look like you just took the cartridge out of a GBA game, that kind of glitch, or did the "Glitch City" cheat in Pokemon: Blue.

3) You smell smoke when playing games or doing anything that requires extreme stress.

Like I said, I'm sure there is more, but that's more of the dominant ones.

To better assist you, I'll need to know more. I have supplied you a program called CPU-Z, it will tell me everything I need to know.
