Heapsize 2gb ram

Hi i was wondering if anyone knows the heap size for 2 gb of ram

keep in mind i want to use have of the ram

2. '-heapsize'
This command determines how much memory (RAM) is allocated strictly for hl2.exe. The general agreement is that this number should reflect how much memory is installed in your system. Here is the equation:

Your System Memory (In Megabytes) / 2 * 1024 = Your Heapsize

Examples:
512MB / 2 * 1024 = -heapsize 262144
1024MB / 2 * 1024 = -heapsize 524288
2048MB / 2 * 1024 = -heapsize 1048576

In your case, the last example given "2048MB / 2 * 1024 = -heapsize 1048576 (put the command in bold in your CS:S launch options)

True, generally setting a heapsize of that amount is best for Dedicated Servers. If I start DoD:S, while idle the game takes 77mb of RAM. I'm not sure the total usage that I get to, but I know that cs 1.6 got to the max of about 250MB of RAM. (I know 2 totally different games, but it's just a generalization :glare

Well I know on first start TF2 uses 300-400mb. Once you go onto a server, it jumps to about 800.


Obviously this varies for people, depending on settings
