Totally new to the game.

Okay, I've been a member for a while, TF2 division. However, I've owned Counter-Strike Source for a while now.

One problem: I've literally never played it.

Needless to say, I'm hesitant to join ANY server and drag a team down.

Here's what I'm looking for. Any ways or methods to learn the basics of the game. I'm a fast adaptor. I've played Rainbow Six 3 online for a long time, so I have tactics down for the most part.

Any admin differences between the divisions: I would love to help out across games when I can.

Any newbie-friendly servers geared more towards training.

Anything else you can think of wouldn't hurt.

simple basic tips to use while in cs:s

sound :::: listen out for enemy footsteps

Radar :::: Always Kepp and eye on the radar

communication :::: always try your best to react to team mates calls or even keep your team informed about whats going on in your game for example what you see like enemy movement or even sounds of them walking around

Cover :::: always stay close to cover so it makes it harder for the opposition to hi you make yourself a smaller target

radio commands :::: very easy to ignore but can be very usefull as not everyone has a mic so try to listen out for the radio communication and where the communication is comming from which is hightlighted in green just after the players name for example =(e)= steam Bombsite B Need Back up!

as you can see the players name then the area name then what he is trying to tell you

Alright Prisoner, im an average CSS players, and heres my tips for you:

1. Play the high school server. Its much easier to get good there.
2. Try out different weapons, see what you like!
3. Figure out the map a bit, that way you get around faster.
4. avoid me

Don't let the fact that you are new hold you back, dont be afraid to turn the corner because you might get killed, Just play, as you play you will learn and gradually get better. For the most part, no one says anything bad about the people that die a lot so dont worry about holding the team back as a lot of us are laid back and if you die, try again.

The best way to learn is to do it.

Well here's Benchangachang protips to owning in CSS
1. use your grenades to the fullest advantage
2. walk when you the action has died down
3. peek quickly around corners, don't run around them
4. use quickswitch (default q on your keyboard) it will help
5. only fire in small two to three round bursts
6. use a mic
and last but not least
7. don't get your dome rocked

The most important thing to remember is, it's a game. Have fun.

If someone is trolling you and saying how 'pro' they are, tell them to go outside.

As for admin differences, all the commands are pretty much the same, except for some custom Jail commands, but the same procedure as any other division.

Shift walk around enemies so that they don't hear you.
Nade where you believe people are.
Pre-fire in common spots, which you will eventually learn.
l2flash, so that you're not raged at.
And beware of EPIC PRO people.

My strategy is shoot anything that moves, seems to work for the most part.

FF (Friendly Fire) is turned off so don't be scared at shooting near or on your about fellow teammates!

COME ON THE HIGH SCHOOL SERVER :]. Lol nobody cares about noobs on their teams, we just don't like campers. Don't worry, it's a really easy game to pick up. Its just the ak which takes a bit of time to learn to aim with.
