Most funniest death!fail

We all have our moments, some more then others, some that are just too funny to rage over.

Don't be shy, tell me, what was your most embarrassing/ funny/ most fail death you can remember? Was it your first time playing, getting a bit too overconfident or were you just not paying attention that day?

Its okay to laugh, it happens to everyone, if you have more then one fail!death story, share!



I'll start with my own:
It was my first time playing Badwater, and I went on the BLU team. I decided to help cap points, I'd go scout. Now, the cart was very close to the final checkpoint, they just needed one final push.

As a scout, I gave that one final push, and we won it. The cart exploded and I ran a little too far and fell into the hole. Giving myself a victory suicide. The second time the explosion killed me.

There was another time in DoubleCross were I fell off the bridge trying to jump somewhere and falling to my death.

And another were I was following a Soldier as a pocket medic and I...somehow failed to see the GIANT HOLE in one of the Hydro control maps, again, falling to my death.

Yes, I have a habit of falling to my death, it happens to me in pretty much ANY game. Height is my greatest foe./shakesfist@

In sawmill, I onced tried to rocket jump inside the middle building to deal death from above at the beginning, I hit a ledge right away, so I basically rocket jumped 3 feet into the air and ended up hitting a saw...

My favorite has also been spending about 30 seconds trying to stab my own teammate.

Perhaps the funniest story: During one of DavetheGreat's class v. class events, spy versus soldier, we were playing on ctf_well. In the ctf version there are two spawns in the room that usually plays host to the "second spawn" and "second cap point" on the official cp_well. Well, right at the beginning of the round, the entire team ran straight across from one spawn to the other in the same room! We were all blinly following each other!

Once I was being a heavy on Blackmesa and I had Boomsta as a medic for me, so he spots a sniper in the distance and tells me to kill him (it was at the blast doors). I tell him that I need to go for the "high priority targets" first...and who kills me right after I say that?...the damn sniper.

One round of cp_well I could not avoid that darn train. I joined a game in progress, played for 20-30 minutes until we won that round. Next round starts and I scout rush the middle point and get trained. I respawn, change to soldier...and get trained. I respawn, sneak attack through the water, get into a fight for the central point...and walk into the train. Sometimes I would wander into it, sometimes I was fighting and dodged my way onto the tracks at a bad time, sometimes I got bounced/blasted onto the tracks. I played for another couple of minutes and about three more train "accidents" before I typed "GG Train" and rage-quit. Normally that thing never gets me, but that one round I got train-pwnd.

When I first started playing Scout, my first encounter was against a clueless Sniper. I emptied around 12 shells before he Kukried me to death.

That was a failure.

I charged a heavy with his back to me as a medic, bonesaw'd him about 6-7 times, only to have him turn around and FALCON punch me across the map. I love it when the ragdoll thing flies across maps and threw walls n stuff.

As most of you know, I only really tend to play blackmesa. It's my map on these servers, and at this point, I know basically every single pixel of that place up and down. When I first started playing it though, that was certainly not the case. I had a few 'growing pains', I suppose. Such as:

Building a full fledged engineer base (with a tele) in our own crab room.
Rocket-jumping on point L to reach the ledge... As it turns out, there's a killer fan there.
Buidling a sentry in our own stairwell.
Iron horsing OUR door.
GETTING Iron Horse'd...over, and over, and over again.

Good times. The first time I rocketjumped to my death on point L (or C) was pretty shocking, I must say. I also LOVE it when people (other than me) do it now... it's getting to be less and less, but it's just funny as hell.

lol I've done all those things Dread has pointed out but you left one out just for you Dread. Lag spy so hard that no matter how you disguise I know it's you.

As for myself I thing my funniest fail has occured a few times. Usual I get autobalanced 30 seconds in but if it waits too long to autobalance me I forget which team I am on. Now this leads to my funny fail where, for example, I was on Red but got switched. Now I foget than I am blue and I proceed to run straight to that nice SAFE Red sentry or pyro and suddenly BOOM! I just have to laugh at myself for that and start paying more attention.

LMAO i love doing this to engi's as well as getting them killed with thier own sentry :laugh:.

Anyways Ive died so many times while trying to kill so many people on well by the train. I was about to get a backstab and then bam, train got me first .

I think mine would be when playing pyro, i went up against a soilder and he shot a rocket which i reflected into myself and ended up dying...

Mine is not about me, but it involves me.
On CP_Well, Apexi Ubered me in as a Demoman, after failing to kill anything, I ran around with my sword to kill a nearby Medic (maximumgumby). I was yelling at him in Vent telling him I was going to get him (he was running away screaming), and right before I can decapitate him he runs backwards onto the tracks RIGHT when the train comes, promting large amounts of laughter and ultimately a giggle fight (giggle fight>tickle fight).

One time I was playing as a soldier and I had just killed about three people on C while trying to take the point. What did I do next? I blew myself up on the wall because I didn't think everybody was dead.

I was on Blackmesa as a medic, healing a heavy in the crab room. The heavy was shooting through the little door at the other team, while a demo was throwing grenades in. I dodged around, avoiding them just enough to not get killed. I had about 1 or 2 hp left and hoped I'd have enough time to recover some.
I continued to heal the heavy, who was taking heavy fire, when a scout hit his ball into the crab room, bonked and killed me. That drew lots of laughter both in the mic and on the chat.
