Also, a word of advice.
If anyone here is interested in recruiting, one thing I stress is
BE PATIENT.
You will most likely be spending around 20-30 minutes for each new member you bring into eGO.
Don't:- Just say "Go to this site. Register on the forums and put me as the referer". It's an unthoughtful way to recruit, and hardly ever works.
Do: Ask the whole server if anyone is interested in joining eGO. If anyone is interested, and you're a G, use psay to tell them you're about to send them a friends request. If you don't have admin, just use all chat or team chat, it works fine too.
Do: Guide them through the steps INDIVIDUALLY. Every recruit is different, and there is no way you will be able to copy and paste the instructions. One thing you can copy and paste is some "General Info" they will want to know. This regards events, server IPs, importance of using ventrilo, posting on the forums etc.
Do: Try to get their Steam ID while they're in game. If you miss out on the chance, you can use the eGO player rankings to find out their STEAM ID.
Do: Again, be patient. Getting someones MAUL verified is the most challenging part. Even if you know what you're doing, the potential recruit may not. The eGO forums can be quite confusing and intimidating to some people, so again, you're going to have to be patient. I have had a few recruits that take up to 2 hours to get the process done
Do: Stress that their forum name and in game name must be EXACTLY the same. If you do this, you are not as likely to run into problems later.
Do: Stress how important it is to use ventrilo. Using vent is a great way to get noticed within the community, and it will really help them out.. Be sure to tell them about the various events the DoD:S division has. All of these help tremendously.
Well, that's it for now. There's other important points to add, I'm just slacking at the moment
