Wow....Reminds me of how my school just had lockdown the other day because a kid that I know made a threat against one of our teachers. The threat was ruled, "not credible" but it was still nervewracking especially since only a day or two before, the New Life Church shooting also occurred and that is only a few miles from where I live.
And to think....I sat right next to the kid for an hour and a half during a study hall period in the morning....creepy

No, it is far from retarded, it's absolutely brilliant. I'm actually very pleased to see that someone took responsive action against someone like that. I don't care what anyone says, discussing such things is NOT cool and if he'd said it anywhere else --- you can bet he would've been taken into custody just the same. High school kids calling prank bomb threats on the school from a local payphone? They can serve time for that sort of thing, it is a CRIME.

For this guy to discuss shooting up his school, and how he was going to do it, in a place where anyone can hear him is absolute idiocy on his part --- and the ones who reported him were very much doing the responsible thing. Maybe he was joking? Probably so. Maybe the kids who called in prank bomb threats on my high school the week of homecoming were joking. But when you waste community and government funds as the administration tries to protect people with your jokes, you should by all means face the consequences.

I'd rather have them track this guy down and have him pay his fine than hear about another school tragedy on the news.
