My video card fried over a month ago (thats why i havent been active lately) i sent my computer back to fix the problem, i got it back today and they did nothing it may be a week before im as active as i used to be im currently waiting on the replacement card but i have managed to get CSS running at 26-40 fps so i'll only be on that or 1.6 til i get the replacement (btw good to finally be back with a computer, i was getting on the forums with my ipod)

Thats not really a reason not to buy an alienware...

that can happen with any computer company if you fry your video card (how did u manage to do that in an alienware anyway)?

Plus alienware's are overrated and waaay tooo expensive lol (thats a reason not to buy)

Alienwares are very well made actually. They just tend to get hot so gaming on a soft surface is ill-advised.

love my alienware, never had any problems with it except the amount of heat it generates. it is now my space heater :D

"Don't buy alienware"

I thought this was the slogan most people go by when getting a computer, for good reasons too.

Just build it yourself next time... a lot less hassle.

Unless it was a laptop, where getting alienware sort of makes sense.

This is definetly not a reason to not by an alienware but it is still something to be dissapointed about.

Well for all of you that don't own an Alienware and i do let me tell you something. They are VERY VERY VERY well built machines. Yes they are overpriced but, you get what you pay for in most cases. I have had mine since 2007 and its time for a upgrade. I have bought many computers and Alienware by far is the best company i have bought from in a good 10 years or so. So one bad video card isn't Alienwares fault did you overclock? Also my Alienware runs cool 35C under load 20C under idle doesn't really ever get hot. Isn't loud and defiantly isn't a space heater. But, i am building a new pc 1500 bucks goes a long way in building one vs getting less with an Alienware. If i could spend alot more it would be easier for me just to buy again.

everything you get in alienware, you can get yourself, at about half the price. your pretty much paying to get it assembled. its not a bad company. gaming laptops, personally, i never liked them. it gets to hot, i rather have a desktop for that and besides, if i get bored in class, i can watch movies and not get to distracted with games XD

Yes, fine machines. Yes, way overpriced. The M11x notebook is one mean looking machine. Considering one of those for myself and pass my ASUS along.
