Anyone have any idea what this is? I honestly don't know, it shows some new maps (I think) along with some new sea vehicles?

Not sure if this is the name of the DLC or the game mode. Anywho, here's the trailer below directly from EA's youtube channel.

Onslaught is bringing co-op gameplay to Battlefield for the first time on console. The new game mode puts you and up to three friends against the enemy on Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes and Nelson Bay – redesigned with new lighting, time of day, added vehicles and other effects. Each map has a dedicated gameplay focus, requiring different levels of teamwork in order to complete the objectives against an onslaught of enemy AI. Vehicle warfare comes to the forefront in Atacama Desert while Nelson Bay focuses squarely on infantry assault. Players can compete in squads and check individual progress via the dedicated Onslaught leaderboards.

Senior Producer Patrick Bach had these few words to say about Onslaught mode “We want to consistently support the fans playing the game with new ways to get into multiplayer and also challenge the elite players with new experiences to improve their performance online. Effective squad play is the key to success in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer and this new mode will provide players with a dedicated environment to test their team skills and rank against the competition.”

Onslaught mode will be available on Xbox Live and on the PlayStation Network.

Not exclusive.... yet.

The question of "What about PC?" is coming up in the comments quite a lot already so this is what the situation is.

No, we haven't signed away rights to console on this.
The problem we have on PC is that all our servers are dedicated with providers. Changing a server from Conquest 32 players to Onslaught 4 players cuts out 28 player slots from the total ammount available. This could have a dramatic affect on the PC online environment if enough servers changed to Onslaught.

We aren't ruling out Onslaught on PC but at this time we are researching how to bring it to PC without affecting players who don't have Onslaught or their own server to run it on.

Only PC will be getting the Infantry Only mode and the camo skinned weapons have to be paid for on console and will be coming to PC after next weeks update so I really dont see how the consoles get "so much stuff".

As cool as that looks, I'm excited for Infantry Only mode and am happy that it is PC-only.

BC2 is in need of something new, i am glad they are doing this. I'm sick of playing conquest and rush.

They said they're trying to figure out weather they bring it up as official EA servers or release it to the gen pop servers. They dont want to have the server admins to all switch to co-op leaving thousands of players out in the cold with no where to play.

Personally I think they are greatly over estimating the amount of servers needed, theres about 60% more server slots than needed even during peak times.

Yet the issues the EA servers have been having the past few days (stats missing, issues logging in etc) is due to them trying to upgrade the capacity of players supported.

No they werent upgrading capacity, they were upgrading the console servers to the newest patch (EA Account servers handle both PC and Console logins as well as all EA games not just BC2). So if they fix one thing it effects all games on all platforms.

Its a new game mode that DICE is going to give away to every CONSOLE player for making Bad company 2 sell 5 million copies. There is already a lot of flame wars in the Bad company 2 site and EA forum for not making it available to PC players. Pretty stupid idea you see.....
