How to disable Steam Events?

Hey guys, any way to disable steam events?
Like:
Join Rotation server, basic weapon class and stuff?
I use my pc as working and gamming station and some times this warnings do disturb my ideas and work.

I'm not sure you can disable it. Did you check the settings on steam client & steam community?
 
oh you don't wanna get no more eGO updates? We use them because we need you people.
 
I was thinking about a more... friendly attitude. lol
but ok, tnz you all... I just cant close steam, i use it for comunication aswell

no, baby... is not ur attitude that is not friendly... is just to close steam of get out of eGO group that is not frienddly thing.
Is a way to say, in brazil. lol :) love u too, dear
 
pritty simple: DON'T DISABLE

possible solution:
1) suposse your at work => go offline on steamfriendslist
2) suposse your NOT at work => keep updated :D
 
Hmm, I just had an idea that might do the trick, if you really want those messages to not show.

Unfortunatly, that idea would require some knowledge of scripting (read: programming) as well as some (basic) knowledge of the windows interiors (read: software architecture).
You could download a copy of a program called "Autohotkey". It features a quite powerful scripting interface. In fact, powerful enough, to manipulate specific windows.

Baseline:
If you know what HWND is, you've got a chance to get rid of the popup messages.
If not, hone your "mouse click on little X-buttons" skills :p

And unfortunately, that's the only solution at the moment. I'm not sure if they are working on adding an option to disable the pop ups but I've heard a lot of people talking about how it needs to have a disable option.
 
I use one pc as a media center. I like to be able to get friends msg's alerting me of problems. What i dont like is 30 minutes before a event a box going in the center of the tv/movie i'm watching. Then at the start of the event, then 30 minutes later announcing the next event in 30 minutes, then event start....It probably bothers a lot of people/makes them quit the group. Signing out of steam isn't a solution, leaving your group is. Obviously need more work arounds then that.
 
Well, if there are that many people interested in having such a workaround, I'll look into that AutoHotkey thingy I've mentioned, and see if I can throw something together...
