Hello,

I started my pc up this morning, but my Internet want working for some reason
So I restarted my computer and i don't get anything on the screen, it says: sleep mode activated.

- I bought a new motherboard and Internet card a werk ago so that's not the problem.

- when I put my pc on everything goes on, like fans and lights, but I don't hear the *piep* sound from my HD.

- I overclocked my CPU from 2.2 to 2.5 ghz, maybe that's the problem?

So I don't get something on the screen.

Anybody knows a solution for this problem?

Thanks

BlackBird

P.s I already checked if the cabels are connected good.

EDIT: 6 hours later; about now. I started up my PC and it all worked again. The first thing i did was puting my CPU back to 2.2 Ghz. Hope this works.
If it doesnt i will edit this thread again. Thanks Sniper for your help.

If you still have any solutions for this problem they are always welcome.
Becaus maybe the problem returns tomorrow or today when i restart my computer.

BlackBird.

I don't know, but try resetting your BIOS. For different motherboards it is done differently so google that along with your motherboard model. It will remove the overclocking and MAYBE fix the issue.

Sounds like you've already been pointed to the answer - overclocking can do really strange things to your computer if things are done very carefully and you don't have adequate cooling. If you don't see any problems in the near future then I would chalk it up to that and just leave your CPU at its stock settings.

Hey thanks for the reply.
But i got a new cooler on it. A Zalman something, the temps dont get higher then 44C'. And a CPU can handle about 65C', so the temps are good.
But I just have it on 2.2Ghz again now, as it used to be. And now i'll wait and see if there come any problems. Lets hope everything keeps runing fine now:)

Remember what i said Bird, one wrong setting will screw everything up. As said above, you might want to clear your CMOS/BIOS completely . I had to do this several times to several Gigabyte boards using a screwdriver to short out the CMOS pins. This sets everything back to stock as it was when you bought it. Some boards have a button, others have a jumper, others you just need a carefully placed metal object-like a small screwdriver. BRB...
