FPS in Source

I will have to send my specs when i get home from work but i have a bit of an fps problem in source. I know that i dont have the best video card but i would like to do what ever i can to get my fps higher. Currently Sadly i get about 25 fps which is horrible and i would like to make that higher so if you have any suggestions i would greatly appriciate it . I have all my settings on low and Vsync is off as well but im sure there are some console commands that i could possibly try if anyone knows what those are please let me know.

its allways been like this honestly its because i dont have that great of a video card im on a hp laptop ill have to put up my specs when i get home. But im just looking for if there is something i could do to make it a lil bit better.

I dont know if this works but check it out its some console commands http://counterstrikesourcetactics.blogspot.com/2008/01/more-console-commands-for-better-fps.html But that is for Css i dont know if it works for some other game. Im to tierd so i cant find any better atm. going to sleep and if you havent solved it ill try to help more tomorrow

Source games are very processor dependent. If you turn your setttings to their lowest, and you're still getting a bad framerate, it's probably the processor that's the culprit, not the video card.

Thanks for the information guys and i actually plan on building my own computer here soon so i wont have this problem very much longer hopefully got to get the money up.
