I'm DRUNK, what's your excuse?!

Pleading drunken immunity doesn't work on eGO anymore considering most of us play better when we've had a few :P

well it's more of an arc you get better with some drinks to a certain point than it goes down hill after about 12.

Here are my 2 cents.

1. Check out the sticky class guide thread on the official TF2 forum. I have not visited the official forum for a long while, but it used to have a very nice collection of class/general guides there.

2. Spec. good players. If someone impresses you, go see what they do. ;) You might wanna try the player perspective mode so you see what the player sees.

3. Go out there and have a fun. :D

or just dont work at it and play the game, im never really thinking about my score or if i can win the next fight, but i always do find my name moveing up the ranks in the scoreborad and almsot always make it on to my teams mvp list.

Play play play.

I sucked when the game first came out. Three years of playing later I am good. Just have fun.

Hats hats hats.

I sucked when the game first came out. Three years of idling later and I still suck...but I have all these hats. Just have fun.
Fixed

Carmine speaks the truth. Just have fun!

Basically just play whatever class you are best at, and try to be a team player. Nobody gets a bunch of points by Ramboing. Well, maybe some do, but those are the people who don't contribute to the team. Just try to help out, try out new classes whenever your team needs them, and just generally try to have fun. If you are getting frustrated, take a break for a day or so and come back later with your batteries recharged. It's also best to play whenever you are calm/happy and not wanting to ragequit.

I guess I'll put my two cents in how I became such a good player in tf2. I know how to play every class effectively and well enough to make my team win most of the time. I'm not bragging or anything, but that's how it is most of the time. Although one can argue, I'm not a great spy, but an effective one per say. Playing medic helps a lot, I mean A LOT. Playing engi also helps A LOT. I say these two classes because they require a whole lot of patience, especially with the team. I believe patience is key in any game, especially tf2. I try to take one kill at a time when playing, especially when I play scout and pyro. I usually will find cover and aim at one person, and keep all people in my line of sight at all times. I see a lot of people do not do this because I can kill them as a medic when they are not looking. I always try to avoid people with medics unless I know they have been hit by other people on my team, or I am a scout, spy, or sniper.

I'm not however going to try to explain each class how to get 10 kills with each of them, but like I said 'patience is key'. Let the enemy come to you, especially if you are a heavy, a pyro, or a demoman. Know your maps, where med packs are, where enemies come from, especially where snipers shoot from. Like I say ingame sometimes, "I'm sorry if I ever go medic". Medic has been and always will be my favorite class. I know people who are great medics in eGO, and some not so good. IMO it's one of the hardest classes to follow who's good and who's not.

To summarize Patience Patience, and of course watch people play. That's how you get good at this game. Also this is my favorite medic video, which is probably the first guide how to play medic. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvPeT-1QDPk"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvPeT-1QDPk[/ame]

The way to get a great K:D is:

Prolong your time alive-
Play conservatively. This means when you have about half of your life left it is time to find a medic or go back to the spawn cabinet.

Increase your kill count-
This means improving your aim so you hit things more, cause more damage, and get more kills. This one will take time to learn.

Be more aware of your surroundings-
When an enemy heavy steps out and you are pyro and he is looking straight at you its time to run away. Start recognizing situations that can offer easy kills or quick deaths. Pay attention when enemies start flanking you and areas that are popular for sentry guns.

Another important thing is to monitor your own playing and start keeping track of actions that get you killed and actions that get you more kills. When the other team is rolling into your base with ubers/kritz running in with a back burner is not a good idea. Try to deflect some crit-rockets and get some kills or go sniper and kill the medic. Observe other people's playing and ask yourself why they are doing badly or why they always kill you.

Finally, play more! This is the easiest :P. As long as you play while thinking about the stuff above you are guaranteed to get better.
