Well I say it like, hey dude lets keep it clean, or, eGO servers are no swearing. Just one comment to every one who warns of language. If the person types in chat warn in chat because they may not be able to hear your mic. I find that it is a good idea to have a bind saying watch the language so you don't have to stop in the middle of the battle.

Oh and about the tone of the voice guys. I always give the person the benefit of the doubt that they didn't know they weren't allowed to say that. I've warned people before and they say sorry I didn't know I couldn't say that and they stop. We are a welcoming community and we should show that even when we are enforcing the rules.

The problem with bind warnings is that they are generic. I believe in basic admin training one of the (many) things they recommend and which I try to practice, is always

1) preceding warnings with "Please..." (so we don't come across as being overbearing), and

2) including the name of the offender in the warning (the reason for #2 is two-fold -- so the rest of the server know specifically who you're calling out, and also so admins have a record in their condumps of who got warned).

Also, 3) a brief thank you to the offender, if he acknowledges the warning, can be a very effective method to keep things in the server nice and peaceful. I mean, if the offender took the trouble to apologize, we should take the trouble to acknowledge that too, right?

Good thing LONDON, havnt read the other reply's so maybe its already been said. But I think IF e's wanna help they should use the "teamchat @" command to contact the admins. And THEN the admins can warn the persons. E's suppose to have fun and met new people, and give the right example. Not warn people, let admins do this, looks way more proffesional.

i find it easier to be an admin when e's are in the server because it means that i dont have to focus on everything thats going on and play the game and occasionally you get the pubs that like to remind people of the rules its awesome so all i got to say to the e's is keep up the good work and if you get an admin that gets upset... talk to someone about it.

and always remember being respectful is the best way to get on someones good side

I try to contact you guys ASAP whenever something goes down. I've been adding a bunch of you to steam friends in order to contact you faster.

In my opinion, admins should have their steam page in their signature on the forums, so use e's can add you easier and faster.

Answer:

These guys are spot on. There are always eG's and eGO's in vent/steam/iRC.

Adding admin's to your STEAM friends is always great. Hopping on vent is a good idea as it'll be easy to recognize leadership. Also, it's great getting to know you as well as you getting to know us.

Furthermore, if you type "STATUS" into your console, a list of players and STEAM Id's comes up. Copy and Paste the appropriate one and make a Ban Request in the DoD:S Ban Request Forum.

Also make sure you type "CONDUMP" into your console to log everything that went on in the server.

Yeah it is rough to keep your cool, especially when there are no admins around. The rules are there for a reason. As much as the players get into it we should always be considerate and awesome! Lets keep our e mature.
