To hardcore, or not to hardcore.

Today i was in a =(eGO)= server today and it was packed, but surprisingly only two of us were eGO. Which in its self was nice to see, that means all those players were attracted to our server.

Earlier today Duality posted an announcement about changing some server settings, enabling kill cam and auto balancing. Auto balancing i like, but i love hardcore mode. and that got me thinking to what made our server today so popular? it was a hardcore server. no kill cam, no cross hairs. it was complete murder all over the server, it was intense, competitive and fun. (and this is not ment to criticize Duality's decision, as im sure im missing important info leading to it.)

so i was just wondering what kind of servers people like to play on? hardcore really seems to be a main factor, nothing more irritating then loading a clip at someone and them not dying, specially when you only have around 30 rounds lol. also i hate sniping in a great spot i worked to get to, just to give up my position right when i kill someone...

so i just wanted to start a poll to see what people like. Hardcore, getting your butt handed to you and handing their butts right back? or a more less intense type of play?

i think tailoring our servers to what people want to play will greatly increase population on the servers. maybe even run two of the same servers. one hardcore mentioned above, and one with default settings see what gets more attention.

Server setting and such may have been discussed before, forgive if i touch on the same subject.

We got normal Rush and hardcore Rush, and both are very full. I personally like Regular as the lack of crosshair hurts me, a LOT. The extra damage hurts me too, yes; bad pun.
On that note, all of our servers except the Euro is full at the moment.

I say, tailor the servers to what the public players want more than eGO.
Most likely youll love the public players settings.
I like either though.

I think you may need to familiarize yourself with our servers, check out the server listings sticky in this forum... it will help greatly with your concerns about servers/maps/modes ect.

You must not have read it closely enough because no where did I say killcam was going to be changed on the Hardcore Rush server. As others stated, It was changed for the two default US servers, Rush and Conquest. Its helped greatly with server population mainly due to the fact that when any setting differs from the default setup the server browser lists it under the "hardcore" option. With the next update they will change that to hardcore/modified/normal but thats still misleading to the general populace.

I prefer hardcore over regular because i don't think it is right that I can put a round from a rifle like the GOL or the M95 into somebodies torso from a great distance away and them just shrug it off and continue to sprint behind a rock.

The only downside is i hate not knowing how much or how little ammo I have. If I had my way, our hardcore server would be a default hardcore server, but with the ammo being shown. But beggars can't be choosers and I'm happy with the configs on all 4 of our servers.

And sorry duality i misunderstood the forum post, the last post was that day, but yeah you made the thread awhile ago. And thank you i didn't know about the search option for polls. Though is this just for me to know or is it bad to submit polls that have already been posted?
and your probably right, i may have misunderstood what was being changed. my post was more or less info for me, i was curious as to what others like to play. hardcore seems really popular, just under regular. only real men play hardcore ;p

HARDCORE ALL THE WAY

In hardcore mode u get such an adrenaline rush that u don't need a Redbull or Monster drinks to keep u going.
OH and for those who need to know how much ammo is left in your clip. Think about it for just 1 sec........:chair:WHY!!!!! Crosshair, minimap, kill-cam etc...for those of u that can't handle playing without the baby settings stay in your Regular mode server, but if u want a REAL WORLD aspect to the game go for HARDCORE

P.S. Just my opinion about Regular vs Hardcore no harm done

P.S.S. OH we need to CUT EURO RUSH and get a Hardcore Conquest USA Server going. This would benefit in the long run since we got both modes for rush and the Euro server is DEAD

My only issue I have with Hardcore is NO map... If there was a map then I would play nothing but hardcore.

I dunno i like hardcore except on one where there is no map or any radar what so ever...kinda makes the recon class less useful to the team since they become nothing but shooters where they can identify people and vechicals long range and warn team mates of incoming enemies that maybe you can't hit or its a group or something
