This is the best game I've ever played. It completely shut up the "Grand Theft Horse" crowd with its unique gameplay practices compared to GTA4.

Expected Comments and Answers

  • "Dur hur its free roam and you have guns and you can steal things so = GTA4

    The type of free roam RD2 offers is a different species compared to GTA4, unlike GTA4's static boring Free Roam where the only real pass time is jump cars long distances and trolling other players, RD2 offers dynamic events within the game world that pop up all over the place (getting robbed, gang shootouts, cattle rustlers, horse thieves, committing robberies, etc) as well as always running events such as Hunting.

  • It has wanted levels

    Wanted levels are handled differently than GTA4. Unlike GTA 4 running away doesn't protect you. After you have lost your perusers they will still be looking for you in the region you committed your crime unless you stop by a telegram office to pay your bounty or offer a pardon letter.

  • Horseback Riding=Cars

    Horseback riding is a different animal (mind the pun) than driving cars. Rather than just "Hold R2 to go as fast as you can" RD2 makes you take the stamina of your horse in mind. Ride him too hard, he'll kick you off.
  • Shooting=GTA4

    Shooting and aiming is a different experience in RD2, unlike GTA4 the aiming is dynamic and fluid, so you won't ever find instances where you can't get a shot off at someone who is out in the open.

  • Plot is like GTA

    Yes, a man does get into trouble and has to fix things. This is the basic premise of many action games.

Good point. And it's not like this game isn't worthy of the attention. I retract my earlier point.
 
My friend let me borrow this for 2 days. Its really fun. But after a while, it gets a little repetitive sorta like gta. but i agree it isn't 'grand theft horse'.

Yeah, cause you get a peacemaker instead of an AK47 =p

Looks great, waiting/praying to see if they have a good pc port.
 
This game is awesome. I've been playing it quite a bit recently. I most definitely see a lot of things from GTA, but they used the good stuff and kept out the bad.
 
Since it's sold out in all the stores I went to. :( I ordered it online.. I will have it by wednesday at the least.. Who has it for xbox?
 
I want it for PC now! My friend brought it over on his ps3. Looks real good! They release it for PC sometime later this year prob, or early 2011. Takes a while to port these type of games and such, especially since the map is bigger than san andrea's
 
I just finished the single player campaign. I'm not going to tell any spoilers, but I will say it was crazy and intense.

Maybe I'll start a separate thread (with a spoiler warning) or if someone wants to chat about it just PM me and that way we don't ruin it for the curious.
 
LOVE IT.
10 hours in and no end in sight.. gotta raise my Honor-rank to get the good ol' duster coat and keep farmin 'em flowers for another outfit.
