Welcome to the Jail Division! Where punks fight eGO members, eGO members fight punks, and admins ban each other on accident!
Sometimes there will be a notable influx of freekilling in the jail server, and, with that, an increase of complaining. While, yes, freekilling and complaining are both bad, the latter is a lot more frustrating to deal with as an admin in some respects.
Frustration Vs. FreeKilling in Jail
When I see comments like:
"Admins only do something when they get freekilled... they don't care about anyone else"
Or
"Oh great admins only admin for language and disrespect but not freekilling?"
Especially when they come from our own members, I can't help but feel frustrated over how wrong who ever is saying that is and what kind of message they are sending to the other players in the server. 99.9% of the time, admins in the jail server really want to catch freekillers and revoke them, but they have some limitations, you see. Most admins (Aside from Cryptex) do not have 1,000 eyes, but rather a single pair of them, like your average CSS player. We cannot see everything that goes on in the jail server (Staring at a brick wall for 20 minutes doesn't help), we are not omniscient, and, believe it or not, those security-camera screens in ba_prison_break are purely cosmetic. Half of the complaints about freekills in chat are mostly from T's that weren't paying attention to orders, so admins cannot trust those complaints.
(Left- Cryptex, Right- Your average CSS player)
What not to do after getting Freekilled
-Whine about freekilling in all Chat
-Whine about freekilling in Admin Chat
-Whine about freekilling in steam messages sent to Pureblood
-Demand or complain over admin actions in the server
What to do after getting freekilled
-Be sure you were definitely freekilled, or politely ask the person who killed you if you aren't sure
-Notify an admin in admin chat of a person that freekilled. Chances are admins will try to keep an eye on that person and take action if they continue to break rules
-Realize that freekilling is only natural in jail - it is impossible to prevent it. A lot of the time they are accidents, so don't get too frustrated when you are freekilled. Don't be so quick to condemn a CT in the server
