EdgeGamers is proud to present our first Altitude server! For those who haven't heard about Altitude, it's a 2D multi-player game by Nimbly games. Here's a blip from the steam page:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/41300/

Multiplayer Done Right: Altitude combines Call-of-Duty style perks with the gameplay variety of Team Fortress 2 in a fresh multiplayer experience. Carefully refined controls, netcode, and balance make for hundreds of hours of deep, rewarding gameplay.

Seven Engaging Game Modes:

Plane Ball's constant action makes it a favorite among new and casual players while team-based tactical maneuvers like passing and blocking provide a fun challenge for veterans.
Team Base Destruction offers an intense, competitive experience where coordinated pushes and strategic loadout decisions turn the tide. Try a friendly pickup game or join a clan and play in the "Altitude ProLeague" - a competitive tournament scene run by hardcore gamers from the Starcraft and Counter-Strike communities.
For the ultimate test of dogfighting skills try 1-life Deathmatch or compete in Demolition for a more tactical, objective-based experience.
Or enjoy classic game modes like Free For All and Team Deathmatch.

The game is currently on sale for 5 dollars through steam. It will be the best 5 dollars you ever spent.

Our eGO server can be found through the in game server list: 24/7 =(eGO)= edgegamers.org</div>

I don't know, I mean I haven't even got TF2 yet which is only 20 buks... so maybe... I don't know.

Wow. And I was just on my way to give Garden some crap about putting a server up.

Oh sweet irony :D

Out of curiosity, how much does a server for this game cost in comparison to other games? I'm not very familiar with that type of thing, and I'm wondering how this will - if at all, impact our monthly bills.

It's odd, from my (relatively uninformed, and unfamiliar) standpoint to see a thread about how desperately we need donations to keep from cutting down one day, and then to see another about a new server for a new game the next.

Regardless of that, though, I love cheap games. I might have to check this out.

Game is super fun btw, WELL worth the $10, crazy to pass it up at $5

IT looks fun and its good eGO has a server for it but I can't buy it until I get a credit card or buy a prepaid one and I currently cant do that so I hope you guys enjoy the game twice as much just for me:P

Holy crap! Mostly Harmless talked me into gettin this game a couple of days ago. Im a staff sergent! Look forward to seeing you guys on our server!

the game is ok, I had a lot of fun during the free period of it, but not enough to want to buy it seeing as though I got bored after a couple days playing it for an hour or so each day.

We have dedicated boxes to host our servers. Adding IP's and instances to a box does not affect our bottom line. While a box may not be able to handle another tf2 or cs:s instance stabely, a low resource game such as this can most efficiently utilize what we already pay for and offer our members the best bang for our buck. So we are simply maximizing the efficiency of every dollar donated. Have a little faith please :). Also, in the future these kind of concerns are best suited for the
dropbox.

so im gonna say no but i would like to see a league of legends division one day that would be cool :D

Awesome! I just posted about this game in the Misc Game Discussion. I'm glad to see eGO putting a server up.

And as far as I know, Altitude servers are free to run. Anyone can start one up free of charge, unless I missed something.

And for all of the skeptics, this game is great. Give it some time before you decide if you like it or not. You might just be pleasantly surprised.
