New servers?

I think we need some different servers.

24/7 Dustbowl servers for other people are always full.
I am just sick of blackmesa, egypt, turbine, and 2fort.

Maybe take the valve maps server and turn it into something else?


what do you guys think?

The server setup is perfect as it is right now, imo. 24/7 Spambowl would tire people quickly, and Valve Maps has just recently returned, don't try to send it back to oblivion so fast.

We had a 24/7 Dustbowl that was quite popular way back when. I personally am not a fan of Dustbowl, but I miss our 24/7 Gravel Pit (which died along with Dustbowl after the Koth Harvest when they were merged). If you have some ideas about servers, try and find some evidence to support you and make a post in the Drop-Box. Although my personal opinion is either leave Valve Maps alone, or change it to 24/7 Gravel Pit. Actually, leave Valve Maps the way it is and just make the time it spends in the Pit longer.

Valve is like 42 maps. Plenty of variety. You can even play 2fort, PL, or Koth on it, which makes me very sad.
We also have this thing called PL that is not part of Valve.

Both very fun. Unless valve is on the wrong map. :/

I believe our servers are perfect. Valve maps, 2fort, egypt, black Mesa, are all almost always full by the afternoon. PL is up at certain times

Valvemaps is very popular, no reason to get rid of it unless we're changing it to a 5 CP competitive server

We can't really do anything new due to the donation let down (If I had money I would donate, but I don't so I'm sad). Maybe during the summer when people get jobs we might get a few more servers, but probably not until then. When summer starts, drop something in the drop box,.

In my opinion valve maps server has Dustbowl and I that doubt we need another server with just 1 map 24/7.

Since basically everyone has already said it, I'll just say it again: this needs to go in the dropbox. Your opinion obviously matters, and the leadership cares about what you have to say, but posting it in an open forum like this can sometimes lead to discussions that get out of hand, largely because players tend to be fairly opinionated about which maps they do and do not like.

I also agree with a number of the people already: our map combo is perfect right now. We have the valve maps, which offers an excellent balance. insta-2fort is really a slaughterfest, and for those who like the more frenetic gameplay, it's there. Blackmesa is also deathmatchy, but provides a great base for teamwork should the team be there to facilitate it. We have whatever you want, really. My thought is that if you think valvemaps should be replaced, you haven't played there enough; mrcool said it. 42ish maps is hard to condemn for lack of variety.

On a side note, for about half of the people summer 'starts' for, it has already begun.

Thanks for the suggestions - we are working hard to make sure we have solid servers with enjoyable maps that are also popular enough to encourage community growth. We appreciate your thoughts and always take these things into consideration when making decisions.
