TV's Lost- Whats your thoughts?

What do you guys think of the last episode of Lost? Ive thought they were in some kind of purgatory or something of that sorts for over a season now and I am 90% sure that's what the ending was. But if that is the case, what about Michael and Walt? Why wouldn't they be in the church at the end.
 
If it was them between two worlds I called this at the very beginning of season 1
 
What was the point of seasons 2 through 5?

It felt like it was actually what the writers meant to do. BUT, they didn't expect the show to be so popular. So the executives forced them to extend it somehow. BUT, when things went south and the executives demanded an ending, the writers were forced to abandon many middle ideas to go back to what they originally planned.

Yes I agree, the whole part with them going originally back in the middle of the series when they are the oceanic six and Sayed killed those people for Ben, what was the point? This end left so many more questions than it answered, atleast I think personally.
 
Its clear they were all dead and went to heaven. But the question is why did they "create the island to find each other"? Why did they need to find each other? And what was the point of going through all of that. What was the point of jacob and a protector if they "created the island to find eachother".
 
The LOST finale was awful. AWFUL. An insult to my intelligence and the intelligence of any half-brained person.


Reasons:
1. It was a Reunion show. Isn't it supposed to be a series finale?
2. The best show of the season was 3 episode's before (the submarine episode). That episode was intense, shocking, and amazingly well done, the best of the last 2 seasons. I felt nothing like that watching the series finale. When the best episode of your season isnt the SERIES finale, something's probably wrong. There was no attachment to the characters in this finale. Re-introducing characters no one gives 2 flips about anymore (shannon, charlie, etc.) was something I'd expect from Grey's Anatomy.
3. Loose ends abound. To be perfectly fair, I did not expect the creators of LOST to answer most of the questions. However, instead they decided to answer almost none. It's pretty clear the creators were LOST when they began this series. I have dragged through the last 2 seasons because I basically loved the show and was waiting for an ending. As Aneruen told me, JJ Abrams pipe dream. Abrams is an awful storyteller. The sign of a good storyteller is knowing how to complete and finish your story. It's abundantly clear he has no clue.

I'm pretty much done with JJ Abrams after the way he's botched the final 2 seasons. The man is like the pretty lady at the bar who flirts with you and gets you to buy her drinks but then bails. Sorry, you're done enticing me.
 
i stopped watching Lost after i saw a few episodes of the 2nd season. it just turned into a very weird show...

OMG YES! That is the only reason I stopped watching this show after the final season. The final season (even the radio station mentioned this) would answer ALL my questions, well guess what, THEY DIDN'T! Not even one major question I had about the show was answered, especially those stupid Polar Bears :(

At least someone shares my pain of those pesky Polar Bears lol.
 
Havent watched LOST. Ever. If i did, i would have to spend a few days catching up
 
polar bears were brought in my the darma initiative for experiments. they answered that question a longgggg time ago.

I am in the same boat as you I never got into it. I don;t think i have watched more than ten minutes of a episode. It just never appealed to me. And from the sound of it Im glad I didn;t
 
this thread is about what people thought about the last episode, what their conclusion might be and how they understood it. We dont need tons of people coming in just to say they didnt watch the show. Myself and im sure many other people would like to share opinion and beliefs on what everything about lost meant. Lets try to stick to that please.
 
I watched it. It was interesting. I had a feeling from season 2 that they were in Purgatory. Notice how he layed down with the same wounds in the same spot in the beginning.
 
Everything that happened on the island was real and everything that happened in the side parallel place was actually purgatory. When they find each other in purgatory we realize that everyone is actually dead now - though the island they're still alive. So purgatory is sort of the future as well. We know that because Ben and Linus say they were good partners and Kate telling Jack she missed him.

Anyway. Didn't make sense to me. Still unanswered questions.
Disappoint.
 
Description of lost in 10 seconds.

Plane crashes, people land on island try to live. Scary episode with this dog thing. Find a radio and try to fix it. They find a plane hanging from trees with dead body. Go into this silo thing... Some person kills loads of other people. Somebody learns magic tricks. They all LEAVE THE ISLAND AT LAST AFTER RETURNING TO IT 5 BILLION TIMES! WHAT IS THE POINT!!!!!!!!!

Btw... ive only seen like 4 episodes ;)
 
I'm sorry I cant take this, Christian Shepard clearly said what the whole ending was about. Everything on the island was real and it happened they did not die in the plane crash. After everyone died of various reasons in their life (Gunshot, drowned, old age even) all of their spirits went to an alternate 2004 where all of their past sufferings where somehow resolved.
Jack=Father issues. Afterlife=Good dad
Kate=Fear of being a bad person. Afterlife=Innocent
Hurley=Unlucky. Afterlife=Lucky.
Ect.
And in this place before moving on they all had to find each other before doing so.

And most importantly after watching every single episode since the Pilot in 2004. I finally discovered the main focus of the show, the characters.

I couldn't be more happier with it. Although I do have some questions, but that's my job to figure them out.

The producers said the show was about the characters, the focus wasnt supposed to be about the island, the island wasnt the show. Everyone seemed to hung up on finding out what the island was that they forgot what the show was really about. I thought the ending was perfect. simply perfect. Also im going to disagree that after they died they went back to 2004, i still think it was present time in the afterlife, which is why Desmond went around trying to get people to "remember" their lives. Almost like he had to show them that they were dead. Once they realized that they were dead from remembering events in their lives most importantly, their loved ones, they accepted the fact they were dead and they were then "ready to leave".
