DoD Morale and You: Divisional Commentary

there's also the delicate issue called "getting worthwhile prizes". That's under construction as well, however, but it's definitely a "work in progress" in every sense of the term.
Worthwhile prizes? What is that suppose to mean? I'm not sure I follow, I mean, I'm not looking for prizes. I just want to play... and a little competitiveness can bring people together. The realisms are proof. The only prizes that should be handed out are for the people who can get everything organized so people can play. Can you walk us through what you guys are doing(or plan on doing) to get everything organized? What are your plans?

Firstly, I am a new eGo member and have really enjoyed the family feeling of DoDs. I played as a pubber on Donner for a year or so before I was approched to join ego (about 4 months ago).

I really enjoy the evnts put on throughout the week. however, it would be great to get them full.

I too really enjoy the competitive aspect of realism. And look foward to them every Sunday afternoon (for me here in NZ). I Also really enjoyed the scrim with TE, if it is possible to implement more of these it would be great.

just my thoughts
Kiwi.

Sure thing, we can do that. When I say "worthwhile prizes", I mean "tangible prizes", something with real-world value. In practice, this really means "prizes that aren't casino cash"; legitimate things like Novint Falcons, T-shirts, gear from the eGO store, etc. My wording there was very ambiguous, and I apologize.

I'm not directly handling this, but from what I have heard, it's proving to be a lot harder than it sounds because of the more arcade-style gameplay of DoD:S, and they have been looking into the best way to set up a team-based system. This is all I know for sure right now, because we just talked about it yesterday.

If you have a suggestion or idea for this, please feel free to PM myself or another DoD advisor (or Drop Box, of course), and we'll certainly take it into consideration. I'll see if I can get some more specifics as well in the meantime.

I remember i think just before the houses were disbanded (maybe a little after) there was this thing that was getting started that had a real war kind of style. There was the Allied vs. the Axis and there were maps that corresponded with WW2 and winning a battle would go to x map and losing the battle would make you go to y map. People joined a certain side and after the houses were disbanded i think the idea kind of just fizzled out. I think it was a great idea and it could help bring more enthusiasm back into DoD.

I remember that as well Supercookie. We were told to pick Axis or Allies, and one or two weapons of choice. The commanders placed us on various teams and I remember that each team was fairly matched. I was really looking forward to the event, but it did get shelved. I may be wrong, but I think the web site switch occurred around that time, from Edgegamers.com to Edgamers.org and priorities shifted. I would love try that event again as well if possible.
