In growing response to those players used to playing the Call of Duty titles and getting some sort of reward for each level or every few levels until you max out your level cap, many are upset that Bad Company 2 introduced levels and "perks" so quickly in the game.

I have come up with this response.

**NOTES***
1. remember - this is a Class-Based multiplayer game, revoultionary due to all it brings Battlefield is not Call of Duty, infact - it came first. Battlefield is a true test of squad based play as often times maps require it. If a well put together team of four can hold off a lone-wolf team of eight or ten -- that says something about a games design.

2. All of the things stated within this post are opinions strictly of myself. They do not reflect Dice, EA, Edge Gamers or anyone having to do with the game or its multiplayer or our involvment as a clan hosting servers

INFORMATION
I think the fact that they introced all of the weapons into the playing field before you reach level 25 is a good gameplay mechanic. Let me explain:

1. By doing this you are exposed to many new weapons quickly, thus allowing you to decided early on what style of combat you like.

for example: Do you like to use the various shot-guns and be devistating at close range. Or do you like the assault rifles and attached shotgun(*1).

2. Also by doing this you see all the weapons available in the game. This makes the weapons feel attainable and makes a level 6 or 7 person relize they really will get the G3 at level 23. If you have weapons that are unlocked simply at level say 45 - then you have people passing up team play, objectives [or using them for their gain (*2)] just to pass through ranks to get to that particular weapon. And what then, if they don't like the new gun. They see what they've done to get there and they see they could have achieved so much more.

3. The amazing thing about Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the simple fact that the game designers decided to reward you for using your favorite guns. Yes - this is our beloved "star system".

The system bases itself purly on kills with a weapon. Starting with bronze, then silver, then ofcourse gold. Once you get ten Gold stars with a weapon you get a platinum star. This means with guns, you have obtained 1000 kills. With the knife (the only exception) you have gotten 500 kills.

4. Finally I like it because once you have all the weapons you now have to find your playing style and perfect it. This does mean you'll play each class until you get a feel for one you like. This game is not always about "Playing the situation" It does however have times where it requires you to adapt your game play. It is important to know the difference. You don't want to spend all your time getting the medic MG unlocks only to find that you really can't get the feel of playing the medic, even though you love holding that massive weapon.

*1 - This does apply to the other attachments;
smoke
under barrel shotty
Tuber (grenade launcher)

*2- this includes going for objects by themselves, employing stupid tactics (such as following another medic just to drop ammo -- also seen done by following an engineer) Also this can be camping as a medic, or runing-and-gunning with the medics MG in-order to gain the kills

basically, any tactic that does not assist your team or the gameplay itself in any real manner.
