Song of Ice and Fire by GRRM. One of the best, if not *the* best, epic fantasy series ever written. Can't wait for Dance to be finished.

Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erickson. On House of Chains right now (if I ever took the time to read these days i'd be done already >.>), but the series is amazing. However, prepare for Erickson to kill off characters with classic GRRM style, and know that Kalam and Quick Ben are total badasses.

After you finish those I'll give you more recommendations, but those are so good they must be finished first.

Hatchet by Gary Paulson. Had to read it in 6th grade, it was required to pass. Very good story and book. Kept me turning the pages. There is also a sequel to it called The River by Gary Paulson. I havent read The River yet. But Definitely pick Hatchet up.
