I was reading up on it earlier. Lot of information. I was hoping someone might give us the scimmy on how it all works. Especailly a list of the point modifiers for all the different weapons. A general explination of how points are determined would be cool. And if someone wanted to explain all the nity gritty information that would be awsome.

it just shows all of ur stats from all of the servers
they add them up and show u the rank out of all the people who play those servers

I don't get why sometimes I'll get 2, 4, 6, or 7 points when I kill someone with the thompson. Could someone kindly explain this, I'm not really a stats guys but I would like to know.

[edit] thanks for the the info blackhawksniper

Heres how it works.

A higher rank person gets less points for killing lower ranked person. This makes it easy to get to the top, but hard to stay at the top. A lower rank person gets more points for killing someone with more points then them. Again, its to make it easier to rank up, but harder when you get in the top 100 or so. Also, the weapons will affect how many points you gain from killing and other actions will give you points, such as flag caps and blocks. Also, getting killed will take away points.

If you dont understand any more parts, feel free to ask :) I know a lot about hlstats :)

Yea its a lot better that way. I like how depending on what weapon and who you killed differs the amount of points received.

hey guys, please dont flame me but dont you think its better if we get more points for capping the flags and wins? maybe this will promote the teams to be more goal oriented rather than sit back and rack up on kills and less worried about their personal stats.

Unfortunately, some of the map tend to be 1-sided, especially the non-official map.

the orange maps? i believe you dont get points for capping flags in the Kustom Kettle server

It's refreshing for a great shooter like Niv to be more interested in capping flags! DoD is supposed to be about flags. We need a good balance between personal stat seeking and flag capping, in order to actually win the game.

Blackhawk, since you're the man on this, how do flags figure in, and can this system be tweaked to give more points for caps?

That would be much appreciated to put the emphasis on caps instead of the K/D ratio.

EDIT: Also, the new stats, as they are right now, just makes people want to camp and get as many kills as possible, instead of trying to win the game. I know people who just have like 24 objective points(which I think only gives 6 points per cap), and only have like 24 kills and 58 deaths.

Yea i think we can find a healthy balance rewarding highly skilled players and also teams that works together.

So far, CAPPING a flag will give you 6 points. BLOCKING a flag also gives you 6 points.

As far as changing that, talk to Kendle or the people at Hlstatsx because I personally dont know hot to change it, though it may be possible.

This is what I have observed based on the math algorithm on the new stats.

1.) The point system benefits avg. and below players (newbies) when playing for the first time until they have peaked to their skill level. Which I think is fine, because newbies are easy kills, and good players (niv) are much harder to kill. It's a good balance in my opinion. But, good players are penalized more to the point they may not stay on the server for a long periods of time, and when they become number UNO they stop show up at times. (One time I killed someone for - 3 pts!!!)

2.) I think to get around individual player-stats ... teams should be awarded more for capping flags, and winning rounds. I suggest a progressive capping system, or a multiplier. For example, Axis 1st should be 2 pts, then 4 pts for the second flag, mid will be 6, 4th flag 8, and then the winning flag 10 pts or even 15 pts. With a bonus of 10 pts for each winning team player. Defensive blocks would be worth 6 pts for all flags because of the difficulty. Of course, the points should be awarded to the player who cap the flags, and teams points for winning the rounds.

I think this will promote more team play, and more {=f=}un.

Delivered,
