Extreme Lag on Valve Maps Only

Hey guys when ever I join Valve maps, I'm welcomed with an immense amount of lag with no reason at all. I've joined all of our servers to see if it was the same but no it's perfectly fine on Blackmesa, Turbine, PL Maps, Egypt, and 2Fort. I usually average at about 300+ ping but no one else seems to have sky high ping I'm having. Is Valve maps located in China or is there something wrong with my system?

I'm averaging around 80 ping on the Valve Maps server and we all know where we are. I do beleive that Valve maps is in Dallas...however I could be wrong.

I persoanlly think it's somthin' wrong with your internet.

I've been getting massive random lag on both Valve Maps and Turbine (only places I play), but I know this isn't server side because I get lag in both L4D2 and MW2. At least its comforting to know that I'm not the only one suffering.

Currently I have two Geforce 280's in SLI mode which are high end cards so I doubt that this would be the problem.

But why wouldn't this be for the rest of the eGO servers?


If you guys can't figure it out and I can't find a viable solution. I will probably end up reinstalling everything from scratch.

BTW the server is located in Dallas, Texas...just like the rest of the eGO servers. So you should be pinging just like the rest.

Edit:Shooter and I went back and forth Mesa and Valvemaps to check if it was a server sided problem. It is definitely a server sided problem; something's up with valvemaps. I had the same exact problem when Valvemaps used to be the Auction server, it almost made me want to stay away from the events.

I think Valvemaps is on a separate box than the rest of the servers which would be why it is different, although I'm not sure on that. Anyway, it would probably be best for you to post stuff like this in the 'dropbox' for Leadership review in the future because they are the only ones who can actually do anything about it

EDIT: Oh, and yeah, Valvemaps/Auction, I've had absurd lag there for a long time also, even when my ping is fine and I'm not lagging on other servers.

i have issues in all of our maps... not sure if its me or what but whenever i target a player (friendly or not) i get a screen freeze for a second or so.. makes the game impossible to play... i've deleted TF2 entirely and still no fix

What is your computer's specs? It might be it is hitting a bottleneck when it tries to bring up the player info and such.

I am getting lag too except on the Black Mesa server. I play there all of the time, so this is rare, but it may just be my internet today or something.
