Hey! Me (or my friend) need help! he recently installed Windows 7. Then yesterday when he turned off his computer and then on it asked for his product key. But he could not find it and restarted again. So when it started it said something like Boot Failed. I think it is like this:

On this movie it was fixed but they didint say how. (This is not my friends computer)
Please help! Is it possible to with the cd to reinstall again? Or how is he going to even get his computer to the desktop or login??

Sorry for my spelling!I was in a hurry :P
Thanks/Ghost and my friend

Hmm, yes, i think you can reinstall with the original cd but it should work, did he definitely put the key in the first time? Also, is he using the legit version?

well he didint put it in the first time because he forgot it at his at his grandma i think. so he was going to wait. if it is the legit version im not sure he didnit realy say if it was or not bit i think it is. I will tell him to try to reinstall tomorrow. Thanks :P

From the video it does not look like it has something to do with entering the product key. You have 30 days from the time of the initial install to register and "decide" whether its right for you... You just choose to activate windows at a later time within windows after the install. You have full features this way, you lose some features like desktop backrounds , causing yours to as said.

Windows could not start the install process... Could you tell us if your friend is using a 32 or 64 bit version along with system specs of that Dell. More info please.

I see you also using Boot manager. Careful with it, im not sure if its a common problem but one time my boot manager failed after installing Win 7 Ultimate on my secondary drive for kicks. All the data was still showing on the SSD which was running Win 7 Home , but would not boot , giving the error that boot manager failed. Windows Recovery is supposed to fix this if it happens but was a no go for me. Had to do a fresh install , luckily i was simply able to move the Steam folder to the bootable drive and then back over to my primary SSD . I was looking to do a fresh install anyways...

This is just a video i found on youtube. This is not his computer, its a 32-bit and it dosnot look just like that for him. He have a Acer. And i can ask for his specs if he cant fix it today. ;)

Tell him to put installation CD back in, or enable boot logging. Can he just do a reinstall?

easiest think to do is to wipe the drive and start over with installation.
