How does one record like that...fraps or hypercam? is there some sort of program i need to download to participate?

Depends on the game, for source you can just record a demo using the console... with other games you'll need a recording program like fraps. Keep in mind though it cannot be the trial version of fraps or other apps like it cause they overlay their logos on the video and we wouldnt be able to use them.

Might want to consider the following for TF2 (idk if it works for all source games or w/e):

hud_saytext_time 0
This will prevent text chat from appearing. You'll need to set it each time you start up TF2.

voice_enable 0
This will turn off voice communication, in case you want to show your frags without some random person simultaneously telling you just how drunk he was last night. This command will also remove voice icons and names of people when they are talking as well as your own talk bubble icon.

Just a thought. Thanks for the hard word you put in to this.
