In game communication in BC2 is practically nonexistent. But there might be some relief coming soon via a upcoming patch. But in case it isnt going to be what it needs to be, maybe we as a community can help push it.

I say we should all email the developers of BC2 and suggest they make in game voice and chat more social friendly. Having it like DOD would be awesome imo. But things need to change, like admins need to be able to see all chat all the time in order to be effective admins (respective sides of course).

Maybe if enough of gamers of BC2 make enough noise we will one day see a chat system we can all enjoy.

Personally I like it the way it is. I like that it is focused on the gameplay. THOUGH - i do agree that a more social enivironment would be nice to play in sometimes.

The new patch should help things..

I would like to see what the new patch brings to the community, first. It may give us something to work with.

Doesnt matter to me. I prefer to play on a squad of people I know so I know how they play. Most likely we'd be on Vent anyways, so its whatever...

but we need a better chat system if we want to be able to recruit more people. if the chat system sucks, we can't ever get people's steam information or get them onto vent to talk to and get them interested in eGO

The chat system needs to be where you can talk with your entire team, not just you're 3 other squad mates. It'd be better that way I think.

Agreed, this needs to be done for some viable team communication.

My thoughts exactly! lol

Even though the chat does focus on gameplay. It doesn't do any good when trying to recruit new members.

they need the same tool steam has where it detects the drivers, then any mic would work thats how steam does it

Why did you bump a nearly 3 month old thread.

It has nothing to do with mic detection and the severe lack of a proper VOIP plugin. The developers said it was on their list of things to get to soon. Weather thats the next update or the one after who knows.

I agree the in-game communication is crap. If you have been on my team before you know that I am constantly sending out enemy positions, vehicle warnings, uav warnings, etc. all in team chat. This is a huge pain. They need to reintroduce squad leaders and commanders of the respective teams I think. I loved being commander in BF2 and using squad commands, supply drops, etc. I love keeping a team focused and when needed helping to keep your losing team from getting too disgusted(especially on eGO servers because disgusted teams will end in dead servers) It is extremely difficult to do such things as it is now. Also...my ingame voice never seems to work...And as stated before it will greatly benefit recruitment!
I do enjoy vent but that is mainly for eGO members only and when there aren't many on the server I am on it won't do my team much good.

I disabled that crap. I don't want to hear people in game at all, ever.

this:sleep:

Ventrillo is enough for me. Ive yet to play a game that had good in-game voice. Every gaming community I have ever been in has always required either ventrilo or teamspeak, If I want to talk to a squad mate I will just type out a message though 8/10 times my squadmate will be in eGO and in Vent so I will just yell him over vent:cursing:

*cough*

Try out TF2, we have an excellent in-game voice system, best of the games eGO supports :), which is why the TF2 Vent channels don't usually have many people in them.

So what you're saying is that TF2 can give all their vent channels to us over here at BC2?

~Music, signing-off.

You TF2 guys sure are generous! We'll have to find some way to repay you :) TF2 does have a nice in-game voice chat tho....

Valve games in general have good voice chats

I don't really need to "talk" to my teammates, it's usually because I'm the one healing/repairing/reviving/spotting/tracing.
