I'm going to take a good guess about how they did it. They took a video, somehow turned it into pictures of the individual frames, and went through most of them and edited them with...some kind of graphics programs. It looks like it's in half stop-motion! That would take some dedication, impressive!

Or they got a bad videocamera and used magical guns made of light to fight each other.
