Just found out my wife and I are having a boy, which has fully initiated a war we've been predicting for years, whether to continue my naming lineage or not. Just so happens I'm Walter Hope Wellborn XXVIII, so it's not like we can toss it away on a whim.

Her argument is that she won't name him Walter Hope Wellborn XXIX "just because", that there has to be a "good" reason. So, if you got some ideas, or just wanna throw some support my way (maybe a few hundred naysayers will convince her the name has to stay), head over to my shiny new fanpage for XXIX.

Tell her she would be disowned by the family if the name doesn't continue ;)

Anyways, congratulations on the baby boy!

OMG, all those names! I dont even know that number, keep the name going, tell her Darth said and she will get scared... cause ya know, its Darth :)

What the hell is her problem , is a family tradition that obviously gone for many years ... So selfish

By the time you've passed the fifth in a lineage of names, you can't stop. I mean it's a tradition at that point. I don't know how you will convince her though.

Is she really willing to just toss out ~500 years of tradition?

Name him XXIX or Walter Hope Wellborn I (aka. great-grandfather^26, or something like that) will come out of the grave and do the ceremony himself.

Out with the old, in with the new.

Pick a new name, she is the one who has to have it crawling out of her, if she doesn't want that name then help her pick a new one.

"Wah she is selfish! Its tradition!"

No, its her baby, all he did was her. Tradition sucks, if we left everything to tradition we would still be burning witches.

Grats on the child.

She is the one who is gunna go through labor though...so by default she gets first dibs on the name.

You're one angry man.

Tell her she can name him what ever she wants but then secretly change his name :P

Well I can def see this argument going either way. All im gonna say is SScagnetti, you just said that it can stop. By putting can't & not, no offense, but they offset either other in meaning. I know it may sound weird but you have 2 'not' words right next to each other. Other than that, im not gonna get into it because I dont have a lineage like that & im not married (yet), so im not gonna side w/ either (no offense to you phixx).
