I love strand/charlie its an awesome map but it has a lot of balancing issues.
Issue number 1: The USA rarely every wins
Issue number 2: The GER can never snipe or use machine gun without dieing in 10 seconds
Issue number 3: the USA spawn camps way too much
Issue number 4 the USA sits in their spawn (beach) and fires at the
GER at the land above even when the timer is at about 1:00 more/less

so here we go these are my suggestions! *drumroll*

The USA should get a limit of 1 sniper, 1 mg or 0 mg. and not allowed to spawn camp the germans.
The germans should get a limit of 2 sniper 2-4 mg.

this will fix issue 2 by having less snipers and mgs to allow the germans to setup this will fix issue 3. this will fix issue 4 by making them use rifleman assult and support a lot more than just setting up 5 mgs and firing at the germans.
you may not think this but it will fix issue 1 aswell. the allies dont go after the flags when they have the chance to spawn camp or camp on the beach. when this ever goes into affect the americans have almost no choice but to go after the objective making them more powerful then the german's 2-4 machine guns will cover up for their powerful assault on the objectives.

I would like for you guys to post questions or comments and also support for this!!!

you have some contradictions and problems in your reasoning for changing the server.

1: If the allies always lose, how are they able to spawn camp?

2: By not allowing the allies to spawn camp the germans, you would actually create a situation where allies win less, not to mention it would be "unadminable", if you will. I have never seen more than 2 or 3 allies spawn camping the axis at a time, and with that few people camping axis spawn, it does a lot more good than bad.

3: Giving the axis 4 mg's would be completely unbalanced and would give them a huge advantage.

4: Strand is a custom map, and spawn camping is a common occurrence which we allow (axis can spawn camp allies, so allies can spawn camp axis.

5: I myself have sniped on strand and stayed alive for ten minutes or more at a time (usually in field), and I know others do too.

In conclusion, I have seen both teams win at strand nearly in equal amounts. It really depends not on balancing issues, but rather how a certain team communicates with one another, and how organized they are.

I dont think we will be changing weapons caps on the server, as that would not fix the problem you are describing, and there is nothing that can be done about spawn camping. It is only fair to allow it both ways as axis must spawn camp in order to win. So, with that being said, I am not disagreeing with you when you say strand is unbalanced in terms of the map itself. However, changing weapon caps will not make anything more balanced.

If you have questions please ask. Additionally, I have taken the liberty of merging your thread and your poll as you did not do it correctly.

1: From my own experience the Allies win just under 50% of the time. Close enough that I wouldn't call it a one-sided map.

2: If they are trying to mg the beach this is probably true. There are better mg spots for the Germans than overlooking beach.

3: True, it is distasteful.

4: Some players may, but more often then not it's people trying to rush to get a bomb plant before the clock winds down.

Giving more mg's to the Germans just encourages beach spawn camping. If it's bad for Allies to do it, isn't it equally so for the Germans? Don't know why you would want the Allies to get a limit on snipers, it's their tool to avoid being spawn camped. And limiting mg's for Allies wont change them camping any spawn points at all since it's much easier to take out a deployed mg than a mobile assault or support anyway.

Well, when using the MG in the Pillboxes (beach bunkers), you just have to know how to use it. Just every time you get a kill or two, run to the back of the bunker and wait for the sniper,MG fire, Rocket, and riffle fire. After that you can go back and get a few more. But it's useful to move from spot to spot. never stay in the same bunker for long amounts of time. Always alternate positions. This goes for snipers and riffle men as well.

There shouldn't be any changes to the server because it has a sense of realism to it. That's how the U.S. did it back in 1944. And changing that would lessen it's sense of realism to a certain extent.

I suggest we allow the allies to call in a naval artillery barrage and use fighter air cover and allow the axis to call in the 7th panzerdivision and panzer greandiers from their reinforced position at Calais and........oh wait, never mind, you guys are talking about a game right?

no its not how the US did it back then, it was almost a trench war, the germans were in trenches firing at the beach the whole time not moving now here comes the allies they could only go one way through past the trenches an area just like the field.
It wasnt a snipe fest, the bunkers also are way too vulnerable to fire in d-day most bunkers were only big enough for a machinegun to fit through.

I was just playing a game a couple minutes ago right? I was a machine gun i tried a lot of things and these 2 snipers wouldnt stop killing me they would know exactly where i was the second i go there. and we had noone at all firing on the beach! how is that a "sense" of realism it should be us at the sandbags firing at the beach
not us in the trenches waiting for them to come up to the mainland.
Also this one guy "vagabound" or something like that, was a sniper and at the end of the round he had 132 kills!
plus the other snipers had another 40 kills! the germans have no chance to actully have a solid Da-fence, im serious because everytime we try and make one they can just shoot the planks out on Da-fence

All situations vary on the players. Ive seen (in a full server) Axis win a majority of the time on one occasion and Allies win a majority of the time on another. Yes its true that every once in a while you get a group of Allies who stays on the beach and camps, but for some of them it is there job to cover advancing soldiers (like snipers and mgs). As a player who spends most of his time on this server as an Ally, i personally i hate not advancing and if i see that we are stuck on the beach, ill try my best to get their rears in gear.

I just don't know if this post is completely serious or not.

What Blue said is completely correct; you contradict yourself within your statement of goals, and your solutions.

Limiting the U.S. capability to get off the beach and limiting their playing style once off it seems aimed at just that, limiting them. Allowing the Germans a disproportionate number of restricted classes while not limiting their play style seems to be geared at giving them an advantage.

I also question the statements if you are arguing that the Germans are not able to spawn, are not able to snipe or MG from the pillboxes, are unable to get to the US players on the beach, and yet always win.

Your suggestions are obviously aimed at making the job easier for the Germans. The question is why if as you claim, "The USA rarely ever wins". Isn't that one of the main ingredients when creating a map for most fps online games, balance? If you unbalance further a map that you claim is already unbalanced, why would anyone want to join the team that gets slaughtered?

Now, your argument that "it’s not how the US did it back then" isn't really relevant in this game. While ideally we could all reenact these battles with incredible accuracy to increase realism, (minus the true misery, death, and horror of it all) what would be the point? We would already know who is going to win... I jest, mostly.

While many can understand your frustration with attempting to snipe on the German side out of the bunkers, it's no reason to change the game play to give you and your team an unfair advantage.

Imagine you had played a U.S. Rifleman or even Support and were running up the beach against 2 snipers and 4 MGs. You shout for your MG to give you cover fire before realizing that your team isn't allowed an MG even though the Germans have 4. You then ask your sniper to take out those MGs, but as he takes down 2, the German snipers take him out. You now have 2 snipers and 2MGs to get through or at least until the other 2 MGs respawn. And you KNOW they will respawn, because as you reach the top of that hill against all odds, and clear your way to Axis spawn, you can't do anything because you can't spawn camp. Come to think of it, how in the name of all that is holy did you make it off the beach when the Germans are technically spawn camping with 2 snipers and 4 MGs?

It can always be frustrating when someone like "Vagabond" kills you repeatedly. Like others have stated however, you simply need to change how you snipe on that map. So you can't shoot down at allies before they are able to move, or as they are running for cover. What is to stop you from shooting them as they crest the hill? Or like Blue said, snipe from the field? It would be completely unfair and illogical to change the map for the betterment of a side that already wins just so people can get a better score.

My last suggestion, if you are looking for points, go to Flash... bring nades...camp field...end.

Just try new things man, something will end up working really well for you and you will be glad that the map was not changed; creating a situation where less people would have played there.

I have played on charlie a few times, and the axis does tend to win more games. However, I think this only occurs because people don't know how to play the U.S. side of the map. Too many people don't move up as it is. Allowing the germans to have even more mgs and snipers, while at the same time removing the United State's snipers and mgs would only escalate this issue.

well you cant yell at the us when we spawn camp because you do it to us. Also i think everything is fine on strand that was kinda how it was in real life but it was only one battle and our win.

Good points there, and well said. I enjoy the more realistic "feel" of it. Once the beachhead is breached though, it can get pretty ugly for the Germans.
