call of duty fps problem

oke, this problem is making me sooooo sick. The problem is that sometimes, i launch call of duty 4 multi player. fps is ok?. after 5 minutes, it drops. making me laggy, and irritated cauz i can't play . Sometimes, my fps is screwed from the first minute I play. sometimes, it is never screwed up.... I have no clue, what the hell is going on, but it makes me sick. cod is such a good game, but it laggs. Some ppl say that it is because of my hard ware. probably not. i used to have vista it runned fine. cauz i wanted to get xp back, so i could play mohaa, now it is laggy. and i have no clue why ... any help should be welcome thanx

What are your system specs, and what is your fps in game?

you can use

/cg_draw fps 1

in the command line to figure that out.

What type of internet connection do you have also.

yea, we need to know your system specs to start with...

Also, who's your net provider? Do you have a throttle on it?

Does this happen with other games? What if you play C0d single player mode..does this happen also?

my provider is skynet i think
when i played call of duty, my medal of honor allied assault spearhead (mohaas) starts to lagg to. drops with fps happens all the time. i did not try single player yet, but i will test it now. my fps is a little fixed with the /cg_drawfps 1. but still not enough. going trough a smoke bomb is extreamly hard .

Well it just sounds like your GPU is very low end.

2. i checked my internet connection and i have telenet. It changed copple of months ago, we switched provider

GPU = Graphics Processing Unit I.E video card. Download CPUZ and send us a screenshot of what your specs are.

Yesterday, i tested the singleplayer, no problems with that. perfect fps of 125 almost constant. the lowest fps i saw was 100


I will download gpuz tonight when i am on my game pc . now, i am on slow pc so i do it tonight . i will post my specs tonight

Turn Soft Smoke Edges off in the options, and download EVGA Precision.

Since it only happens after 5 minutes of playing, it sounds like the temps are really high. So, try turning the fan speed up while playing (assuming you have an 8500gt with a fan).

When I used to play COD4 and leave the fan on default settings the temps would get as high as 90c, even Crysis never got that high.
