cod4/cod5 entering server prob.

I have a Problem with Call of duty 4 and Call of duty World at war, basically all my Call of Duty games.
Whenever I connect to the server I keep getting this annoying lag that stays for 10 minutes then disappears. It doesn't happen in Campaign though.

The graphics settings are all high and on.


It is not my ping since I enter servers that are in San Jose.

Do you have the necessary ports(If needed, disregard for hardwire) open to allow communication?

CoD4:

UDP 20800.
UDP 20810.
UDP 28960.

CoDWaW:

UDP 20800.
UDP 28960 - 28970.

The reason I suggested this is because you experience the lags in both games, but you don't experience it in Offline mode.
Do you have your punkbuster updated to the latest version?

Yes my Punkbuster is up to date. What do you mean by ports?

From your computer, does it go to a modem or a router?

Router, Ethernet

To forward your ports go to your routers homepage: 192.168.1.1 (in most cases)
type the username and password to access
Go to your Application and Gaming tab >> Then port forwarding

Forward the above UDP ports that Ric as provided to your internal IP address (do a ipconfig in command prompt and look for your internal address probably 192.168.1.x)

Following up, was the approved resolution used?
Are you back to gaming without lag?
