Hey folks.
This poll stems from something a friend of mine asserted to me a while ago, and I'm not sure I believe him. In general, he said, European people, especially west Europeans, know more languages on average than North Americans do. I DO buy the concept behind it; there are a lot more languages floating around Europe than there are in North America (from an 'official language' point of view). However, I thought since we have such a large body of players here, it might be a good test sample
So, answer the above poll, and if you like, tell us which languages you know!
Being able to speak a language, for the purposes of this post, means being able to go to a country where that language is prominent and comfortably speak with locals/navigate around.
I personally am from Canada, and I know English, of course, but I'm currently in the process of learning German. And, contrary to popular belief, my French, though it is an official language, is worse than my German
