* Primary firearm: M1 Garand
* Secondary firearm: Colt M1911A1
* Equipment: Two rifle grenades
* Melee weapon: M1918 trench knife

eGO's Finest:

It was tough starting with this one, seeing as how I think it is quite honestly the most ignored class in the entire clan. After much research, however, here are a good "Top 5"...

1) =(eGO)=??Crusader?яќ♠ - 1.93 K:D ratio all-time as Allied Rifleman on DoD:S, with an astonishing 1038-119 Domination-Revenge ratio as such.

2) =(eGO)=? BILL CLINTON - 27.9% weapon accuracy, mostly with the M1 Garand. 1.51 kills per death as a rifleman. 1.61 kills per minute. Also, check out this vid I got from Cpt. Kirk:
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7ty8ixRuec[/ame]

3) =(eGO)=? Sabion :D - 2.07 K:D ratio all-time as Allied Rifleman in DoD:S. 41-3 Domination-Revenge ratio. 62% of Allied Rifle Grenades hit.

4) =(eGO)=? Ravage - 1.76 K:D ratio all-time as Allied Rifleman in DoD:S. 78-7 Domination-Revenge ratio.

5) =(eGO)=? Bad Brain - 1.74 K:D ration all-time in DoD:S. 179-24 Domination-Revenge ratio.

Disagree? Who is better? This one was really tough because, again, not a lot of people like the class.

DEBATE!

Bill Clinton, he destroys me unless I have a sniper rifle...

He's the first one I thought of, the first one Kirk mentioned, and then that video just sealed it for me. I only put Crusader over him in my initial rankings because I have never seen the guy play and word on the streets is he's the best...

wow, what am i doing there, thats my worst class :scared:

from what i hear bill's probably the best but from experience i'd have to say crusader

Crusader is pretty amazing with the grand

The 100 Grand? The candy bar? Ya know, I've heard that myself.

I guess Kirk is rather leet with the Butterfinger and I, for one, am a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup master.

Oh, but anyways, Brain, you were on there cause I was desperately trying to find people who even use the gun, so when I cross-referenced the skilled people I have faced on my friends list with the top-ranked players, your name came up, you have used it somewhat, and your numbers aren't too bad, so that's how you made it on there, lol.

As you can see, this is quite easily the hardest one to do because nobody has even so much as mentioned anybody else. It's "the forgotten class". Any way we can have a mod to where when players go to pick a class, that's what the "Allied Rifleman" reads instead?

yes, if there's anyone that's good with the m1 thats not on this list please say, i mean honestly in all of eGO there must be someone good thats been missed out..

A few but there not in eGO any more.

On that list I would have to say Bill. Hands down. Having played with him my vote goes there.

I checked my friends list...here are the best ones I missed (I missed them because I was looking through people who have recently used the M1):
Bacon! - Woah, dude, maybe here's one I missed! 1.71 K:D and a 356-42 Domination-Revenge ratio. Also, a 171-115 Win/Loss ratio. Hmmm

(IO) SA - 1.35 K:D and 161-39 Dominations-Revenges. 174-50 win/loss.

ronpaul - I should have suspected. Sigh. 2.12 K:D, 324-28 D/R, and then 139-77 W/L.

Old Monkei - 2.19 K:D, 205-22 D-R, 69-37 W/L.

Shrike Drop - 1.70 K:D, 98-17 D-R, 108-10 W/L!!!

Duality - 4.45 K:D, 93-2 D-R, 45-19 W/L. I've never ever ever seen Duality on DoD and he has a great 1.51 KPM with it all-time, so I have no idea if he really was "just that good" with it or what.

Really, the only way we'll know who is the best is if we had some sort of...skills competition or something like that. lol

I'm ok with it, some days I'll do really good and others I can't hit water if I fell out of a boat.

the thing is, while stats give you useful info you cant tell if they are proning in a corner or strafing around headshoting guys like crusader and bill do, not that im saying any of these guys camp but you never know unless you play them

Yeah exactly, which is why I went with Bill and ignored the pure numbers of it.

Cause, I know ronpaul wouldn't be just sitting around with it, but...at the same time...when I have played him and he's been good, it's been a BAR or the Spring. I never remember a time where ronpaul got on with the Garand and started pwning us lol

Well can't I do both? If the situation calls for a rifleman to camp because the snipers camp in the wrong spot I'll do it, but if it calls for a rifle to rush the enemy and kill the machine gun well I'll do it too.

Also it isn't camping, its simply strategic positioning for an extended period of time.

Oh boy...not THIS argument again... :P

don't get so defensive, i wasnt calling you or anyone else a camper, i was simple stating that its hard to tell how good people are from stats, and considering ive only ever played with you in realism i dont know why you would think i was talking about you. But you must agree that judging people on their K:D R when all they do is camp isnt fair

this thread is about skill, camping requires none

True. Whether you are camping or "strategically sitting in an area blahblahblah", it's a proven fact that you will have a higher K:D, hit more shots, and put out less of an effort to make the kills than you would if you were to be rushing.

Wooo! 1.35 kdr :D

But it in all seriousness, I agree that this is a fun discussion. Not that many people use it that are still in eGO (You'reInMyCrosshair is my fave M1 player to play with). I also have little experience with Crusader besides looking at the stats page. My vote had to go to Bill, based on the video alone, it's tough to argue from that list at least. Ravage actually is quite a respectable M1'er and deserves the shoutout. Brain is good in a pinch but meh, I honestly don't disagree with his comments that he might not deserve the vote in this post (no offense buddy <3 ).

Hm, it's a tough call because usually when I try to think about "who is good with X class", I mostly consider if I have to give that player extra attention when I play on the opposing team. IE: My team isn't doing an adequate job controlling that one person's sprees and I need to adjust my play style to position myself accordingly to offer up resistance. And honestly, that's what makes this discussion so intriguing; I very rarely find myself having to do that with an opposing M1 player, let alone an eGO M1 player. The only reason YIMC (former eGO) pops into mind is that exact reason; he will run and gun with the M1 and cause a stir on Ava unless he is pinned down.

/Shrug. It's a tough call. I also think that Blue Stealth deserves consideration (almost as lame as rp, yeah I know), and while usually his weapon of choice is sniper, he can definitely play M1 very competently. Good discussion YSD, I missed you while you were away, glad the new PC is up and running!

Also, I guess I never mentioned Sab. Do TF2 players deserve mention? Ha.
