Can't get Wacom Intuos GD 1218 to work.

I have an Intuos GD 1218 R and haven't used it in a while. But I decided to check it out again. I've installed the newest driver for the intuos but it does not work. When I go to the wacom properties it tells me that there isn't a suppoerted wacom product connected.

The red light does turn green when I tap with the pen so the pen isn't the problem. I'm using Windows XP.

where did you install the driver from? cd that came with the tablet or wut?

No, got the driver of the wacom website. Intuos GD is a Intuos 1 version

double check that you downloaded the correct driver for the right operating system.

Also, try rolling back to older drivers if you can find them.

Oh and reinstall the driver in administrator mode with antivirus programs disabled.

Well maybe try using the drivers that came on the CD. Probably would be the best bet. Then you can go from there if it works on updating all the drivers to the newest ones.

They recommended me the 4.78 driver version but I can't find it anywhere. All the links I find are dead.

Well has anything changed with your system since the last time you used the tablet? Say.. maybe the OS? Upgrade to Win7 since?

No only SP3, but that should matter. But I found a link for the 4.78 driver, going to try that one out.
