I would like to announce the formation of what I call "Black Cluster".

Many of the people in my area and I have already been working in conjunction with each other, but I have also noticed that outside of about a 40 mile radius of my city, there are no more active Black Company members for quite a distance. With this in mind I have sent out mails to all within this area in hopes of opening communications for better defense and supplies.

The center of the cluster is close to my cities at -8,-200 and the current recipients of my mail are LSSniper, Pankrias, Cigarjohn, McAwesome, Vwraith, Killer4000, Steadman, AzureDragon, and cooley945. I have encouraged all of them to mail me and each other, and have offered to keep a list of what we can supply within our cluster, much like Raptor217 has been doing on these forums for the whole alliance.

If anyone has any comments, questions or concerns, feel free to post about it. :)

My stuff's in the market place thread. I have some upgraded metal I'm researching in my second city that will exclude the force fields. If anyone wants a ceramic plating close by, give me a holler and I'll whip one up for you.

I also have some minor weapons like a precise laser rifle and a light laser. Basic stuff, really. I'll research the more advanced stuff when I get a third city.

Mobey, if you haven't done so already, contact suspicious and see if he's still playing, because he's the closest to me.

I'm going to be keeping the list of our items on my computer so I can mail them out easier if need be, unfortunately I believe you and I are the only ones in our cluster that have signed up on these forums.

And I've been keeping track of the major inactives of the alliance, suspicious hasn't been on in at least 2 weeks. :(

Mobey I do appreciate these forums ,but black company is black company
led by myself and dragon as a sub-commander. I don't know what your trying
to accomplish as you can make a thread asking for equipment or resources.
We all need to help each other not just small sections.

I understand that Stick, and I have never said anything to the contrary about following your leadership, but as I posted, there is quite a gap between the core and the guys in my area. Dragonhill has made it clear on more than one occasion that you guys are busy fighting in the core, so pardon me for not wanting to post a thread and then wait 12+ hours after someone happens to read it to get reinforced if I'm under attack. I am simply trying to instill a sense of cooperation and communication in the people that can help our area the most. Considering that any one of us down here would get our butts kicked if we tried to attack into the core, and the fact that if we can ask someone close to us to build us weapons that we might need instead of waiting for a long transport time, I don't see anything wrong with what I'm doing at the moment. As long as the people down here are still outsourceing thier needs to alliance members, what does it matter what alliance member it is? I am trying to help Black Company by keeping the coherency of some of the outer rim players intact until we can join you guys in the real fight.

I'm with Mobey on this. while I agree that we should help the rest of our members, when you look at us, we're far from the actual fun and tbh, we get kind of lonely just pounding farms and the lone enemy groups here. This is just so we have a way to depend on each other without dragging a transport unit for miles and miles, taking days to reach us.

I think this is a good idea and helps us so we don't feel too left out. Not to mention we have some enemies by us as well. Which won't mean we won't help you, but if we're attacked one day, a one day journey to the -50 -100 area won't give us help in time.

Just saying.

Many, many, Black Company members are on the outer rim. While we have our own battles out here it is essential that we stick together as an alliance. Our main role is to support people in the core by producing weapons/shields for them and by sending them defense units when a major attack is in bound. While you might be a day out, many nova attacks take that long to hit because they move so slow.

I myself am on the outer rim, I put up an equipment thread to benefit the whole alliance. Yes, if you really need something it can take a while to ship, but its worth the wait. Not many people make Advanced Defense Systems or Complete Force Fields and you have to wait for them to be shipped out and to reach you because its either that or using obsolete equipment.

Now, you might want to have the BC members in the area specialize so that eventually you can get what you need faster, but there will always be a few odds and ends that take time to acquire.

I see your point, but to me, it's not whether or not we can reach you guys with items, but whether or not we'll manage to defend ourselves. The strongest members of Black Company are grouped together, and that's what our enemy alliances are hitting. If one of their outer group members who's well built realizes "Oh, hey! There's a BC member with no one near him, I'll help by attacking him!" then that lone area is just going to be a farm if he's strong enough.

And again, this formation does not mean we're not willing to help the outer rim fellas. As long as we know we can defend those outside of the main action just in case, I don't see why it's so bad.

All this being said does not mean that you cannot be self sufficient. Heck when I had no help
I was producing mechs and working towards new cities and weapons for myself. Although with
me spending all of my resources purely on mechs it is now more beneficial to get what I need from
the rim because it costs less that I don't have to research anything besides mechs.
Build your buildings, your tech labs, your mechs! It isn't hard to be self sufficient you just need to
know how. Now being self sufficient doesn't mean forget about the big picture it just means
if it happens your prepared. Now mobey I'm sorry ,but if you put out an alliance broadcast
that doesn't just go to the core it goes to rim players too. We ALL need to help each other
that doesn't just mean core members helping out rim guys...regardless no factions need to
be started either.

Thanks,
Stick

I understand your concern with the alliance becoming factionalized, and I want to assure you, that is not my intention. I am not trying to exclude my area from the rest of the alliance, I am trying to make us more effecient so we can help Black Company as a whole faster. Everyone will have access to the information I collect about the members in this area, not just "Black Cluster". Of course, as the leader of Black Company, I will respect your decision on what you want me to do with this whole situation, but before you decide, allow me to be blunt for a moment. Many of the people in this area have already been whispering to me about how they feel they don't need Black Company because we are too far out and no considerable help is being sent in either direction. So you can allow me to try and give these players some pride about being Black Company members by making them feel involved with a group, or you can have me sit back and possibly watch players leave for other alliance that are closer to thier position, the choice is yours. But again, I want to convey to you that "Black Cluster" is only a nickname for our area, coined to give us some pride about what we are doing and who we are with, not meant to seperate us. Much like the armed forces, someone may be in the U.S. Army, but they still have pride in thier unit and what it accomplishes.

Peace be still, we are all in this together!

Stick, show me your... never mind. ;P

Anyway, with us being far away we do really have only ourselves here to defend. Especialli wyth Bebe now being ze enemy. But don't you worry, I'll send you some candy if ya need it. ;)

Now... does anyone here produce Heavy Mortars or Dominator Missiles? I need some. ;>
