took me about a month to get this all done, but its finally here... :)

Case: Cooler Master HAF 922 Mid Case
Mobo: Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
CPU: Intel i7 930 @ 3.8ghz 1.3vcore
CPUCOOLER: Corsair H50 Water Cooler w/ duel 120mm fans
GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 470
RAM: CORSAIR XMS3 6GB
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB
O/S: Windows 7 Pro 64bit
PSU: Thermaltake W0319RU 850W Modular

SLI time?


Nice build.

Choice of CPU cooler is meh, but good build nonetheless

Routing the EPS connector behind the motherboard would make it look cleaner

just wondering, what cpu cooler would you have chosen ? the only other one i had my eye on was the cooler master v8 but ehh i got this one :P

I would have chosen for about the same price as the 9900:
Corsair H50

It preforms way better than anything that Zalman makes. The 9900 was good when it was released, but there are better things now.
 
That sure is one hell of a machine, only thing i would have changed would be the cooler as Reflex also commented. We had just done an RMA on a UD3R rev 1.0 and was hoping they would send us a the X58A- UD3R... no luck. Careful when overclocking on the GB boards if you dont already know, notorious for continuous reboot loops if BIOS settings are just a bit off. Just changing the uncore from 16x to 17x caused this for the board, did some more tweaking after the dualbios kicks in. Happened again and the BIOS was corrupt . Could not post. Otherwise, I still use my rev 1.0 and absolutely love it.

BTW- let me know how well that 930 overclocks along with the board. Vcore, qpi, vdimm, etc. would be nice.

Next to get those benchmarks!

Get a SSD OS drive, and those benchies will be even better! (Even higher than SLI another card)
 
Im still thinking of what else im add on this comp... my be an ssd os drive like mattM said... but SLI i dunno, this gtx 470 runs hot as all heck.... might have to put a cooler on it cause its making my computer room very hot LOL

Unless you have a full tower case with lots of fans and a good environment, SLI IMO isn't recommended or needed. A SSD OS drive (2 in RAID0 would be amazing haha) would give you the biggest improvement in performace or benchmarks.

its a mid case, and i still have to put the last two case fans on it...
 
I have 2x200mm fans, 1 in front and on top... still need the last 200mm fan on the side and 2x140mm fans 1 in the back and 1 on the bottom (just put it in) of the case :P this baby has alot of air moving threw it

Yeah... that's hot. I like your choice.

CPU cooler wise though, H50 is perfect. Low maintenance, closed loop system that makes OC easier without as much noise. There are alternative solutions to it that are very similar, but I haven't had any problems with mine yet.
It does make a weird gurgling noise though, which is kind of weird coming from a computer (as opposed to your stomah :D).

Any reason you chose a mid tower? Do you LAN a bit? I would always choose a full tower just to have more room.

SSD is probably the thing that would make your computer feel faster. If you think that the 470 runs too hot, then maybe you should pick up water cooling as a hobby. It's not as hard as you would think.

PFFFT he could SLI easily in that case.
 
Download MSI Afterburner and set a fan profile. Or, like reflex said, get into water cooling.
