Well I have noticed my computer is getting old and is becoming nasty. Even though i can build my own computer i still want your folk's opinions or recommendations.

All i want is an all round computer that can do regular high school projects and play tf2 and other goodies around 30-beyond fps on high graphics.

Please reply, Thanks!

How much you trying to spend? What current hardware do you currently use. See what you can use in your next build from it.

It might not be appropriate to say here, but im willing to sell my computer, if your looking for under a 1000. It runs anything you probably play.

This is what i would say is a pretty typical build for what you want to do

CPU:
Athlon II X4 $100

Motherboard:
BIOSTAR TA890FXE $140

RAM:
GSkill 4GB -$108

Case:
CM Storm scout

Power Supply:
Seasonic M12II 620w -$100

OS:
Windows 7 Home -$100

HDD:
Samsung F3 1TB

DVD burner:
reuse

Video Card:
MSI HAWK Radeon 5770 -$180

total before shipping:
$887.92

Well he just wants to play tf2 and high school things, 900$ is way to much for that.
You can get a computer for 500$.

CPU: Intel Q8300
GPU: Hd 4870
RAM: 2GB

Not to expensive and enough for what you want right now.

With the build these players give you, you can play BFBC2 online at high details and stuff, and you just want TF2.

CPU: On a dead socket, no upgrade options
GPU: old, no DX11
RAM: Insufficient for modern games.

He still hasn't given a budget, so for all we know he could be dropping 4k on this rig.

I know but he just want to play TF2 and doing high school stuff. So if he really dont wanna play modern games, then 500$ is enough.

Even on a dead socket, he will be fine.

what if he decides that he wants to pick up a new game, say crysis 2? Wouldn't it be nice to be able to upgrade ?

And besides, for the price of a Q8300, you could get a PhII 965 or other AMD quad.

Toms has a 550$ build coming out tomorrow. Would be good to take a look, figuring your on a big budget.

Sorry for long response. Cuz of Summer Baby :)

Well my budget is around 700-850$

thx for budget

Motherboard:
ASRock 870 Extreme3
Solid chipset. Board is manufactured buy Asus. (ASRock is a subsidiary of Asus) Nice VRM cooling.

CPU:
Phenom II 955
High clocked quad. Will work well for TF2/other games

RAM:
Gskill Ripjaws 4GB

Nice heatsinks, Good brand, Know to work on AMD systems. (AMD boards are abnormally picky with ram)

OS:
Windows 7 Home

GPU:
MSI HAWK 5770

Great card. Excellent heatsink. Overclocks well

PSU:
Seasonic S12II

Great PSU. Great ripple suppression. More than adequate for your build

HDD:
Samsung F3 1TB

Fastest mechanical drive (excluding raptors).

ODD:
Any will do
