Now, I have never Crossfired/SLI any cards before and I have basic knowledge on chipsets
BUT can a NVdia chipset handle a Crossfire // Intel Chipset handle SLI?
I remember when I was RMA'ing my old Strike 2 Formula a few months ago to Asus, they ended up giving me an option of a new motherboard (Either a Rampage Formula or Maximus Formula, one carried a x48 chipset and the other a 790i respectively), I really didn't know which to pick, but the techy asked if I planned to SLI/Crossfire my GPUs. I said it was a possibility in the future so he said to get the Rampage because it was a newer chipset and it would allow me to Crossfire another 4870 or 2 ATI cards in the future.

My question is, does it matter what chipset I get if I plan to Crossfire/SLI? Is once chipset perfered over the other when trying to link 2 GPUs?
